Player Plot - Jouney Through Desert Resort [Locked to Subaru & Emmet]

 It was a strange feeling, sand passing through him. As an incorporeal being of course, technically he couldn't feel it at all of course. But he could see the sand come toward him and not stop, as it did when it blew over the others.

Subaru already had his poncho from the store on- in addition, his pokemon were either within their pokeballs or kept in check by Yuuma's own. Travelling along Route 4 had been the easy part, where the road had been relatively safe to traverse.

Now, however, they were in the Desert Resort- and reaching the building known as 'Relic Castle' would be easier said than done. Vicious winds blew sand around until it was impossible to see more than a few feet before them- And any single mound of it could be mistaken for the land that the ruinous building sat upon.

"Subaru," he called out, voice somehow still overpowered by the howling winds. Behind him, the pokemon were each doing their part to shield the other from the harsh winds- though Muzumuzu was relatively unaffected even he had troubles, a fact that had the psychic of the group doing her best to at least shield them from the worst, the tiny Kuribolt barely avoiding a fate of being blown away while Achacha acted as a wall. "Subaru," he repeated, looking to the boy. "How are you faring..??"

The attacks hit home, and briefly the enemy is stunned again- as one last move then...

"Muzumuzu!" Astral orders once again. "HEX!"

"LAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMP..!!" In a wave of darkness the spirits are forced back- slammed against the wall and retreating into their coffins.

"We should be able to pass now," Astral noted, looking around uneasily. "Let's go."

Mm-hm!

[And dusting himself off now, even as Leo and Rocky come to steady him. They go through the passageway...]

...And they are met with a large, open room, with three other doorways.

"Ahh..."

M-Maze...

Tch...are there any markings that could tell us where to go? Clues?

[Looking through with his Visualizer now, even.]

"At first glance, no," he states, floating around the room near the ceiling.

"...Ah-"

Eh? Astral, is there something up there?

[Trying to get a good look himself...]

Good luck seeing Subaru- it's absolutely miniscule, and he can only spot it by squinting with Lampent's light and whatever seems to radiate from the walls themselves.

"There are runes decorating this side- and only this side of the ceiling," he shouts down, floating near the door to the left of where they came in. "Quite likely this is the doorway we're meant to use!"

R-Really? [He can't see them, but...] A-alright, then, let's go!

[And then they follow Astral's lead...]

Through the doorway they go then, before Astral floats up toward the ceiling once more. Soon enough he'll gesture to the right side of them, and off they go again...

As he examines the third room however, something seems to shift from the shadows of the room...

[There's a bark from Rocky, who glares at that direction. What was that aura?]

Subaru! Something's over there! [Ah, looks like War-Rock knows what Rocky's feeling. Since they have similar temperaments, it's inevitable...]

What?

A low growling sound can be heard, and Astral snaps his gaze downward. The rumbling grows louder... Louder...

"Rammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..."

"Ah- Rampardos..!!" How much reading did you do Astral!?

Regardless he's right- and the Rampardos is not alone; at each side of it come a Bastiodon, and Yuuma's pokemon immediately prepare for battle.

"Quick!" he orders- "Foul Play! Hypnosis! Hex..!!"

Gah! [They look so huge...He waits for the other attacks to hit before he launches an offensive of his own. And by offensive he means defensive potshots.]

Zutz, Confuse Ray! Leo, Spark! Rocky, Force Palm! Aim for that Ramparados' legs!

Bastiodon One; half health + atk, Ramparados; 2/3s + confused, Bastiodon 2; Sleeping, 3/4 health

Under the barrage of attacks only one of the Bastiodon stumbled into slumber- however, before the other could successfully shake off the confusion that allowed the Ramparados beside it to fall to the ground under weak legs, Kuribolt was quickly sent in.

"Kuribolt- Punishment!"

The Bastiodon- strengthened by his iron defense- quickly found itself battered back by the wave of darkness sent forward. However, it did not falter in his charge.

Galu however, made certain the charge did not connect. "MUN..!"

"Galu- use dream eater on the other one! Achacha, Featherdance!"

[Subaru's flying Pokemon continue to stay at the rear, while than Rocky and Leo, who dance around the slower opponents, hitting their feet with the same attacks whenever they can.]

Geograph! Use Whirlwind to try and slow them down! Zutz, try to confuse the other one, quickly!

Rampardos- 1/2 health

The first bastiodon charged once again, and this time Galu could not stop it. However, between the whirlwind and the confusion it did slow down, and with the constant battering from the others it finally fell.

"Good!" shouted Astral, turning toward the others. "Now- get the second Bastiodon before it wakes up! Galu, Dream Eater... And Muzumuzu, Hex!"

The ghost type cackled as he took the order, Galu as well gaining an odd look in her eyes- between a wave of mist and a wave of darkness the pokemon seemed to slip into a deeper slumber, before the attention was turned to the final remaining pokemon.

"Now... Go! Foul Play, and Quick Attack..!"

Rocky, Force Palm! Geograph, Psybeam! Hurry, before it attacks again!

"RRRRAAAAAAMMM!" The ramparados does not appreciate the onslaught and attempts to close in for a strike as best he can- however, in a battle of one against many, it is clear who the winner is....

Watching as the beast collapses to the ground, Astral sighs in relief. "Hahhhh... That was rather unexpected... I did not think too many pokemon would live down here aside from the Copharigus..." ...As a matter of fact Astral, those three were rather rare down here...

Y...yeah...they were really strong, too... [Subaru sighs.] We should get going, before more come. Maybe the sound of the battle attracted more...

"Indeed," he responds, looking upward again. "We must take the door to the right then."

Un! Come on, everyone!

[And off through the right doorway it is.]

As they travel through the next one Astral doesn't state which side the runes are on quite as soon- staring at them in each room he's noticed slight differences. The depiction of something that looks almost like a sun in the center of the carvings, those surrounding it slowly depleting. The 'sun' is probably what they're after but...

Hnnn...

"The path directly ahead this time," he calls out, floating down toward the others.

All right! [Subaru leads on the rest of the Pokemon who haven't already started following Kuribolt.] Do you think we're getting close, Astral?

He nodded, looking up to the next set of runes. "I believe so," he answered.

"The runes are gradually depleting- there are only two sets left on either side of the 'central' one- my theory is that the runes create a map toward the entrance, exit, and 'main room'," he added, floating down. "We move directly across again. After that, it should be the last one."

[Subaru seems to be pondering this over, before nodding.]

Mmhm, I think I understand. Let's go.

[And off they go!]

As they come from the next room, it seems that it's a little brighter than the rest... Looking to the runes once again, he points to a door at the side. "This is it," Astral stated clearly, shivering somewhat in anticipation. "The final room."
