Player Plot - Jouney Through Desert Resort [Locked to Subaru & Emmet]

 It was a strange feeling, sand passing through him. As an incorporeal being of course, technically he couldn't feel it at all of course. But he could see the sand come toward him and not stop, as it did when it blew over the others.

Subaru already had his poncho from the store on- in addition, his pokemon were either within their pokeballs or kept in check by Yuuma's own. Travelling along Route 4 had been the easy part, where the road had been relatively safe to traverse.

Now, however, they were in the Desert Resort- and reaching the building known as 'Relic Castle' would be easier said than done. Vicious winds blew sand around until it was impossible to see more than a few feet before them- And any single mound of it could be mistaken for the land that the ruinous building sat upon.

"Subaru," he called out, voice somehow still overpowered by the howling winds. Behind him, the pokemon were each doing their part to shield the other from the harsh winds- though Muzumuzu was relatively unaffected even he had troubles, a fact that had the psychic of the group doing her best to at least shield them from the worst, the tiny Kuribolt barely avoiding a fate of being blown away while Achacha acted as a wall. "Subaru," he repeated, looking to the boy. "How are you faring..??"

Astral frowned, stiffening somewhat as an odd sensation passed over him. Just a small chill- as though he was being watched really. The other pokemon seemed to feel it as well, but it was Galu who reacted first. The munna turned, and with a sharp cry-

"M-Mun!!" As Astral turned to look upward through the shadows of the room's far reaches he froze even more.

"Ah- Pokemon..!"

E-Ehh?! [And then he actually gets a closer look] I-it doesn't look like any other Pokemon we've seen down here...

[There's an eventual timid step forward. They have to get through anyway, right?]

[Looking down on the group, suddenly - the moth let out a loud screech, as it suddenly dived down. A wild Vocarona appeared!!]

Alright. How long do you think 4 lvl 40s + a chunk of lvl 30s would take to beat a single lvl 70? :|

Astral immediately flew backward, the pokemon hopping forward with their own snarls. Ashes dropped from the 'moth's wings, and even without it one could tell that the insect was tied to fires... With that in mind he made his decision.

"Galu!" he ordered first, "Hypnosis! Achacha, featherdance, and Kuribolt! Use Scary Face!!" As the attacks were unleashed Muzumuzu floated up from the side, cackling in his own way.

"Muzumuzu," he decided, pointing the lampent forward. "HEX!"

[Great. This one looked strong, and his Pokemon were at their limits. Time to play defensive.]

Rocky, Leo, stay back and wait for an opening! Zutz, Confuse Ray! Geograph, Psybeam!

[Let's just concentrate on potshotting with long distance attacks for now, shall we?]

Status moves. Multiple status moves - Volcarona wasn't focused on dodging, after all. It was focused on fighting - and got struck by Hypnosis! And Hex, and Psybeam, too - though it barely scraped the Pokemon, though the Confuse Ray missed.

Hypnosis hits- Astral continues. "Good work- now Galu, Dream Eater! The rest of you... Once more, Feather Dance and Scary Face! And Muzumuzu, HEX!" The move that gains power with status ailments- the Lampent seems to grin despite missing a mouth. As the others shoot forward, his flames do the same, while Galu seems to try and 'pull' something from the opponent.

[Ah, perfect!]

Quick, Leo, Rocky! Hit it with Spark and Reversal! Geograph, Air Cutter! Zutz, hold back and if it wakes up, use Confuse Ray again!

Right, so taking over for Volcarona as planned..!

Though the moves get through a sudden screech meets the air, a weakened Volcarona pulling itself from the ground it had fallen to and hissing. Wings flapping at top speed a powder began to cover itself, and for a moment Astral frowned. Was it him or... Had he felt that?

There was no time to question it, as the next thing that happened involved that same wind blowing a majority of them backward. "Ngh-!" Shielding his face despite the fact that it shouldn't have been felt, he pointed the others forward; they'd taken the brunt of the damage thankfully, but they could not take another!

"Galu! Use Psychic- Kuribolt and Achacha, Fury Swipes and Wing Attack... And Muzumuzu!" he added with a final cry, "CONFUSE RAY!"

[Volcarona just barely manages to dodge the psychic blast with a frantic beating of its wings. However, that only puts it into the path of the Fury Swipes and the Wing Attack and it screeches, pulling itself away after shaking off the little Zorua furiously scratching away at its face.]

Quick, Leo! Use Bite to hold Volcarona in place! [Leo does so, leaping up with an angry growl to latch onto the giant moth's lower body, the effort visibly weighing down Volcarona enough to have its eyes and mind dazzled by the confuse ray.]

Geograph, Air Cutter one more time! Zutz, Wing Attack! Hurry!

"Once again... Psychic! Fury Swipes! Wing Attack and Hex!" Astral orders, the pokemon clearly coming to it's last legs even as it furiously throws those around it away from itself. "It's almost done...! You're close..!"

[Subaru grunts as his Pokemon are thrown back. They're all so tired, can they really pull off this final attack?

Wait...tired...]

Un! Rocky! Get close with Quick Attack, then go into Reversal! Hurry!

[The Lucario lets out a bark, before dashing at the Volcarona, ramming into it and stunning it. It then howls and gathers energy around itself, before launching it at the still recovering Volcarona. It's not a very effective move, but...can the boost from Rocky's low health help overcome that?]

Before Astral can even give a fresh set of commands the Lucario charges against their opponent; and as the enormous insect slams against the wall it screeches, shaking itself. It rises to the air as something falls from its body, dust scattering all about the room- And finally in a burst of flames it vanishes, to some other unknown area of the catacombs.

Astral sighs in relief, the other pokemon as well. Somehow he feels... Heavier? Is that the word? Resting his hands on his knees he closes his eyes before freezing. He...

...He can feel the floor on his feet.

[Subaru is still wearing his Visualizer, so he doesn't realize that Astral is solid right away-after all, he can still see him, same as always, right?]

Hey-are you alright? [And he's rushing over to him, even as his own Pokemon (other than Rocky) start making surprised yelping noises.]

The other pokemon as well turn, jumping and staring for a moment as Astral himself does similar. Looking over his hand, 'testing' the ground...

Looking over to Subaru as Kuribolt cheerily barks 'HAH! TOLD YOU!'...

"I..."

It is about now that Galu chooses to investigate the area where Volcarona fled, apparently spotting something on the ground. Something embedded in the sand...

Eh? [There's something funny about the way Astral is acting...]

Kid! Off with the Visualizer, look! [And Subaru does so.]

Wah! Amazing, Astral! You...you're visible now! Did that Pokemon do something to you?

He blinks, looking over his arm again. "I'm not... Entirely certain. The powder it scattered may have had this effect, but during the battle it did not have the same permanency..."

"Munnnn..." Galu floats over at this point, holding something in her mouth. A horn, it looks like; from the Volcarona actually. The energy it radiates is particularly interesting however.

Huh...what is that? [At the crooning from Geograph, Subaru looks up at it.] Is this what we needed, Geograph? [Affirmative chirp.]

He takes the horn, turning it over in his hands a moment. "It seems to be, yes... Interesting however, that it was the pokemon itself who held the key- I wonder if, in the time of that other Yuuma, it would have been too late..."

Hnn... [Subaru looks slightly down at that, before perking up.] Who knows...I guess it all depends on whether that Pokemon was there or not, right? For all we know, we could have been very lucky...either way, we need to get you back to Yuuma-kun, quickly!

[Ah...what about your own searching, Subaru?]

"Right!" ...Though...

"...It would appear that this is a dead end however," he adds, looking to the rest of the room. "Perhaps a throne room of sorts, but regardless of that fact, there is only one other path from here; I doubt that it will take any less time than it did to get here as well." In other words, they should probably go as soon as possible really...

Right. We'll just heal up the Pokemon and set out as soon as possible...this was a difficult fight.

[And he gets out the Potions as necessary.]

He nods, looking to the others for a moment. "Are you alright?" he asks, a few of them hesitating with their response. Kuribolt immediately barks to show that she'll be fine- though it seems that's all Achacha needs to start herding them all toward Subaru and his potions really.

[Subaru gives them all their needed dosages, before pulling out some Pokemon food for them as well, they need some sustenance for the journey ahead, right? Once everyone's done with that, it'll be time to go!]

"Alright," Astral begins, the group heading out to the room just outside. "While examining the runes before, I came to the conclusion that the reverse directions which brought us here will lead us to a potential exit. It is impossible to exit the way we came after all- so there is no use in ignoring the possibility. Just in case however..."

He attempts to float to double check, frowning when he makes a wobbly foot upward before falling flat to the ground. "Sff-!" Nnn... "It would appear that we will have to go with memory..."
