EVENT - October Plot Stuff Part One

It's the early morning, after the eggs have hatched. How fun - I hope you all love your new Pokemon friends.

But that is not what this post is about. Oh, no. It's going to prove something to all of you.

Namely, the fact that NPCs can use this network as well. They can use it for all sorts of purposes - like sending out a text to all the newbies. Like this one here - sent from the formal parts of the Nacrene Gym! Whatever could it be? Well, read on...

Dear trainers;

This letter is to invite all of you to an archaeological dig in the Relic Castle, beginning in four days.

Us Gym Leaders have been watching you since you were attacked by those Pokemon around a month ago. Before then, those Pokemon had not stirred from their places in the various ruins of Unova. You're all something special - and that may not extend to just summoning Pokemon who have not been seen in many years.

The dig is to investigate reports of a strange stone, buried at the bottom of the Relic Castle. Many reports have poured in from trainers - the main parts of the ruins have been closed to the public for a while, due to them. We've looked before, but now it seems that things are changing in this region.

And that is why we are inviting you to come along. Transport will be provided, as well as protection from the elements. If any issues come up during the dig, us at the Nacrene Gym will take all responsibility for it - there is no need for panic.

We will be starting the trip to the ruins in two days - and the trip shall be sped up by our transportation. If you wish to come, reply by then.

Please note that during this time, the Nacrene Museum and Gym will be closed, as nobody will be there. We apologize for the inconvinience, but this may be one of the biggest finds of the century.

Yours sincerely;
Nacrene Gym

Well. You've got two days to talk it over with others - it seems the channel is still open, but there won't be replies from the gym. But you can still use it as a public talking ground thing with friends! |D

Joy...?

((OOC: This is part one of the event - just getting people going! In two days, I'll be putting up another post, for the travel [which is also just a shortthing] - but backtagging is encouraged for all of these things. And stuff. [We will need backtagging for the exploring won't we :p]

I'll also be putting up my plans for the whole dig in the OOC comm within the next few days.))

[...Emmet is curious, as his new baby Rotom is hovering behind him, and his Joltik is wearing a Trio Badge necklace.]
The Relic Castle - it is a nice place. Yup. Jolt, Trick - do you want to go? It would also help us find more strong Pokemon. I wonder if there are Yamask strong enough to evolve quickly? As quick as possible?
[Emmet. What are you planning.]

[Miror appears on the screen, looking slightly perturbed.] I see you've read that letter, then. [THE AUTHORITIES ARE SPYING ON US] I do so agree that it would be a fantastic place to catch more Pokemon. Demyx -- you know, my man in Nimbasa -- sent me a video of the place. Looks oh-so-promising.

[He steeples his fingers thoughtfully. He's clearly a little unsettled by the letter and its implications. Mostly just the part about them watching him; should they even be talking on the network anymore!? However, there's a golden oppurtunity here and he's not gonna let it pass on by.] This dig seems frightfully silly, but if this stone they're looking for is so important it might be worth finding it first, don't you think?
emmet: (Default)

[personal profile] emmet 2011-10-09 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
It is important - that stone. Maybe it is there... [Emmet is musing to himself, don't mind him. He's got a bad feeling about this place... and there's only one thing you can do when you get a bad feeling. Investigate.]

...Do you know of the legends of Unova?

[video] gosh I am bad at using the correct username

[identity profile] pokeball-afro.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The legends? [Miror shakes his head, amused.] Fuhoho! Never paid much attention to Unovan legends, I must say. Why, are they relevant, darling? Something about this stone perhaps?
emmet: (↓now he is ing)

[personal profile] emmet 2011-10-10 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
In my Unova... the legends went to sleep, and became stones. In the Relic Castle... Zekrom slept, waiting for a new hero. [Well, some of Zekroms powers slept there, waiting. Details, details.]
We need Zekrom. Yup. [Now, Emmet doesn't normally sound serious. He doesn't often act serious.

So you know this is serious when he both sounds and looks serious. Even with a slight smile, he's serious.]

[identity profile] pokeball-afro.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
...I see. [Miror seems subdued in the presence of serious!Emmet, and he misses a couple beats before returning to his normal tempo.] ...Well that does sound important, then, doesn't it! So you agree? We'll work on finding it first.

[An uncertain pause.] You seem pretty adamant about this, darling. Why do we need Zekrom exactly? I mean, other than the obvious leverage, the advantages of having a legendary Pokemon on your side, etc., etc. I get that part! Do you know something I don't?
emmet: (Default)

[personal profile] emmet 2011-10-16 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Silence. Emmet then thinks a little - did he just... yes. He let himself get angry. He let some of his own fears slip into his voice.

That was bad. Sorry, but serious!Emmet is gone again.]
I want to see it. Yes, that is it! It can be our friend! Our good friend - and I have a lot of electric types. I think I would be a good trainer for it. That is all.

DID SOMEONE SAY ANCIENT RUUUUUIIIIINS?

Estelle read over the feed and her eyes shined brighter and brighter with every sentence. Letting out a confident huff, Estelle balled a fist.

"Um... I was heading in the Nacrene direction so... I guess I could learn a lot from the Gym Leader~ Eheh~" Estelle giggled, containing her excitement for a bit.

"Oh but there's going to be ruins and relics and all the history of this world's people and how they lived and worked and built for day-to-day~ Fascinating~" Estelle sighed, already in euphoria for all the things that she could see.

"And maybe we can meet some new friends~! How enchanting~!" Estelle said to her Pokemon, all five of them... including the recently hatched Barboach, nodded excitedly.

[Paprika would love to learn more about freaky ancient ruins and all that good stuff, but she currently has her hands full with a Croagunk who seems intent to cause her as much trouble as he can. She can be seen hiding behind a chair, a pillow in her hands ready to be used as a shield or a fairly humane means of protecting herself.]

Hey, man, did you just miss the part where I took care of your weird frog egg thing the whole time? I'm, like, your mom now, so if you wanna stop attacking me and start being a good mutant kung-fu frog, that'd be pretty legit.

[Oh, if only she knew enough about type advantages to realize that both of her other Pokemon are strong against a Poison/Fighting type...]

[HERE HAVE A DRAGONITE.

And her freaky ghost Duskull thing. Watching. From nearby.]

You're not fighting? [gosh it's like dragonite is the only one in the group who defaults to attacking stuff.

Also, you may notice that just near to her, there's a thin-looking Meowth - and Dragonite isn't attacking it. There will be a post about that as soon as I finish art for it.]

[action]

[identity profile] noplaidshirt.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, what the heck am I supposed to do besides--

[The Croagunk jumps forward again and attempts what seems to be an Astonish on the pillow. Nothing actually happens, but it's enough to make Paprika yelp a bit and bonk him on the head with said pillow, albeit gently.]

--that? I mean, beating him up would kinda be a dick move, right?
ext_1012826: (smug;)

[identity profile] adarkfuture.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
If they fight, you fight back. It's simple.

[action]

[identity profile] noplaidshirt.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well, uh, considering he's the one that's gonna open up a can of whup-ass on me instead of the other way around, I'm probably not gonna be able to do much...

[The Croagunk makes a sound that's probably meant to pass for a giggle in concurrence--for a newborn, he's picked up on Paprika's total incompetence awfully quickly.]
ext_1012826: (mad;)

[identity profile] adarkfuture.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Then... [Dragonite has that look in her eyes. That fighting look. Oh dear. With a sharp nod, she suddenly leaps into the room, towards Croagunk. Hey, a fights a fight. It's not like she cares for you yet. (Or maybe she does.)]

[Thomas walks into the room, squinting at the Xtransceiver screen, re-reading the transmission. He only seems vaguely aware of Paprika's troubles and walks by them without looking up.] I just don't understand what they expect us to do on this venture of theirs. [He plops down in a chair and crosses his leg, still scowling at the Xtransceiver.] I certainly don't intend to do any digging.

[After a minute, he seems to finally become aware of the ruckus Paprika and her Croagunk are making. He looks up and frowns in their direction.] Look -- what's going on? Is that frog of yours actually attacking you?

[action]

[identity profile] noplaidshirt.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Paprika decides now would be a good time to just bonk the thing on the head with her pillow, albeit gently. It seems to work well enough to get the Croagunk to sit down, slightly baffled. Turning to Thomas, she puts on her best (which is to say, an American's rendition of a) British accent and shrugs.]

Iunno, guvnah, I just woke up and he was, like, jumping on my face.

[The effect is thoroughly ruined by the inclusion of her very modern slang.]

[action]

[identity profile] thomas-sinclair.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Thomas frowns, unamused by the attempt at an accent.] I see. Why don't you just put it in a Pokeball? [He gestures vaguely with his hand as he considers the options.] Or have one of your other Pokemon subdue the thing.

[He studies the Croagunk for a few seconds, a brow raised skeptically.] It's not the most handsome beast in the world, is it? What's it called, do you know?

[action]

[identity profile] noplaidshirt.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow, she probably should have thought of that a lot sooner. Fishing around in her backpack, she grabs the first Pokeball she can find and chucks it in the Croagunk's general direction. It doesn't do much of anything, though, prompting a muttered curse from Paprika.]

Heck if I know. You'd think he'd, y'know, actually want to listen to me and stuff, right?

[action]

[identity profile] thomas-sinclair.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Who knows how it works? I'm still trying to figure out how my egg hatched into a... what did that Jade Harley person call it? A robot? [Let me tell you about Dittos.

Thomas grunts in amusement at the completely ineffective Pokeball toss and starts fiddling with his Xtransceiver, trying to find the Pokedex app.]
I suppose, if you want, I could have one of my Pokemon take it out. Unless he's settled down now... Ah, here we go. [He holds the Xtransceiver out towards the Croagunk for a second. "Croagunk," says a computerized voice. "the Toxic Mouth Pokemon." Thomas frowns and looks at the screen.] Well, that doesn't sound very promising.

[video] TOPH GET IN HERE

[identity profile] sweetstrainer.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The screen flared to life as Stocking and Toph regained their bearings, the former noticed there was a text message to the both of them.

"Oi, Earth Girl let me read this to you," Stocking called out to her companion, before reading aloud the contents of the message to her.

"Ruins eh? Looks like an adventure, don't you think?"

[action] HERE I AM

[identity profile] tm26-earthquake.livejournal.com 2011-10-08 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Toph listened with interest. A lot of it made absolutely no sense, but she did catch on to the most important part of all: DIGGING.

"Ha! I guess I got here just in time for the good stuff!" She grinned. "Yeah, only the best adventure ever. An underground adventure. Man, I'm just bummed we have to wait two days."

[action] Adventure Girls: The Thread

[identity profile] sweetstrainer.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Not a fan of sand but at least they're giving us something exciting to do," Stocking rolled her eyes. "At least they're prepared for that kind of stuff. All sorts of people here."

"Oh and... what'd your thing hatch into? I got this battery thinger," Stocking shrugged, lifting up her arm, dragging the Elekid clinging onto it.

[action] we're gonna pretend it's been a day or so I guess haha

[identity profile] tm26-earthquake.livejournal.com 2011-10-09 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh! Right." Toph reached for the large bag at her side, which looked heavily weighed down. A grey tail with a pointy knob at the end protruded from under the cover. Toph lifted the flap and held the bag up, revealing the inside.

"I got this little rockbat guy!" A very small Aerodactyl was curled up tightly in the bag. He lifted his head, blinking sleepily in the sudden intrusion of light, then yawned toothily and pulled his tail inside. Toph carefully replaced the bag at her side. "Well, he was even more little when he hatched. I don't think he'll fit in the bag much longer the way he's growing. I guess that's what these Pokeball things are for, though!"

[identity profile] sweetstrainer.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Definitely growing bigger. How much are we feeding this guy anyway?" Stocking wondered, poking its head a little.

"....How are we supposed to earn cash anyway?"

[action] liquid time exists to be abused! :D

[identity profile] tm26-earthquake.livejournal.com 2011-10-10 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know! He ate all the food they gave me at the 'Center pretty quick." She laughed and shook the bag gently, provoking a muffled grumble from inside. "Oh, stop complaining, I'll get you some more... whatever it is they feed you."

She thought about the cash situation blankly for a minute, then grinned. "I got really good at pulling scams in this one Fire Nation city. D'you think we could do something like that here?"
