united_one | EVENT - October Plot Stuff Part One

It's the early morning, after the eggs have hatched. How fun - I hope you all love your new Pokemon friends.

But that is not what this post is about. Oh, no. It's going to prove something to all of you.

Namely, the fact that NPCs can use this network as well. They can use it for all sorts of purposes - like sending out a text to all the newbies. Like this one here - sent from the formal parts of the Nacrene Gym! Whatever could it be? Well, read on...

Dear trainers;

This letter is to invite all of you to an archaeological dig in the Relic Castle, beginning in four days.

Us Gym Leaders have been watching you since you were attacked by those Pokemon around a month ago. Before then, those Pokemon had not stirred from their places in the various ruins of Unova. You're all something special - and that may not extend to just summoning Pokemon who have not been seen in many years.

The dig is to investigate reports of a strange stone, buried at the bottom of the Relic Castle. Many reports have poured in from trainers - the main parts of the ruins have been closed to the public for a while, due to them. We've looked before, but now it seems that things are changing in this region.

And that is why we are inviting you to come along. Transport will be provided, as well as protection from the elements. If any issues come up during the dig, us at the Nacrene Gym will take all responsibility for it - there is no need for panic.

We will be starting the trip to the ruins in two days - and the trip shall be sped up by our transportation. If you wish to come, reply by then.

Please note that during this time, the Nacrene Museum and Gym will be closed, as nobody will be there. We apologize for the inconvinience, but this may be one of the biggest finds of the century.

((OOC: This is part one of the event - just getting people going! In two days, I'll be putting up another post, for the travel [which is also just a shortthing] - but backtagging is encouraged for all of these things. And stuff. [We will need backtagging for the exploring won't we :p]

"Well, duh! Otherwise they get suspicious!" Toph laughed and 'looked' around, scoping out their surroundings. "What kind of scam do you think would work in a place like this? I dunno if they even gamble here!" She put her hands on her hips and considered the problem. "There were those sports stadium things, though! I bet I could beat any of those guys easy."

"Hm, there's Tennis, Basketball, Football, and Baseball if I remember right," Stocking mused, plotting with her new friend.

"Bets on winners then?" Stocking proposed, going for something simple.

"Oh, right, I don't know any of those sports." She folded her arms, disappointed. Ever since she learned that the whole point of this world was Pokemon battles and not fight matches between benders she'd been trying to figure out a way to keep in shape. "I guess I don't have to play, we could just watch and I could... y'know, affect the outcome! They play on dirt, right?" She grinned deviously. "This'll be easy! D'you think you can find anyone to take bets?"

"Baseball and Football yeah, but not the other ones," Stocking recalled, taking a sip of a soda she just bought.

"I guess I could strip or something~" Stocking giggled, unashamedly. "But am I actually going to play too? I'd have to get a team for those sports," Stocking pondered.

"Pff, what? You don't have to strip, Socks." Toph laughed and gave Stocking a friendly punch on the arm. "And you don't have to play, either. Neither of us does! We can just go to the stadium and take some bets. Then, when the game starts, I'll make sure our team wins! I'll just trip up the other team, maybe move 'em around a little. I can do it from the stands."

She grinned, warming to this idea. "Yeah, this is brilliant!" she said. "We just gotta figure out when the next game is." She paused, thinking. "I guess we could rig Pokemon fights like that, too..."

"Guess that'll do, alright let's see who's playing in the Big Stadium, yeah?" Stocking grinned, patting Toph on the shoulder.
