second flight - audio

[Action]
[yes this is another post because iris needs it]
[At this point, the Xtransiever is flicked on - by the crew following. Archeops and Bagon.]
[Audio]
...Well, I've been training since I became a human. And because I grew up like I did, I knew about the Challenge first-hand - so I knew we had to train extra hard. If I didn't, it'd be like handing over the world to the man with the legendary!!
The man with the legendary - right. Is he here?
No. I haven't seen him, and I'm glad.
[A long pause, as Iris ponders something.]
...You know... I didn't listen to my Pokemon back then. We didn't have time, after all. A trainer could roll up with a Joltik or a Tynamo or a Blitzle, and then I'd have to say goodbye to everybody. It always hurts to say goodbye to a friend...
[There's a silence between the two parties. Swoobat then speaks, quietly.]
...You won't need to say goodbye again, Miss Iris. I promise you.
[More silence. Up in the air, Iris is clinging to Swoobat a bit, as they continue to soar across the skies. Iris then started to speak again, clearly trying to hold back the tears.]
You know? This world is a lot safer then home. But I've still failed Skyla - I promised her I'd fix her, n-no matter what. A-and now I c-can't...
[And now crying. She can't hold it back. She's just so... so scared. But then she gulps, and stops herself from crying.]
Listen, Swoobat. While we're flying... can we fly around the region? I wanna see the differences in this universe.
...Sure, Miss Iris! Sure!

((OOC: Purple is Swoobat, btw. She'll pretty much be up in the air for the whole event.))

"Gee"? [G. It suddenly clicks, and he audibly gasps. When N first spoke to her, Iris didn't recognize him. If that was true, how could she know of Ghetsis?

Then again, Iris' Unova was different from his own. Maybe it's not Ghetsis at all.]
Iris, his name... Is it... It is not... [A pause. It feels odd to say the man's name out loud for some reason.] ... Ghetsis, is it?

[audio] Sorry this is so late! ;o;

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-07 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[N is silent for a moment, in shock. So Ghetsis was present in Iris' world, but he was not. And she called him the "man with the legendary"...]
But... how can that be...?

[He reflects Iris' anger, snarling into the Xtransceiver.]
Quiet! You know nothing of him! [Startled by his own exclamation, he takes a moment to calm himself.] Recall that our worlds are different, Iris. In my world, that man... He is... [He pauses. How does he even explain this without drawing out more anger?] I know him more than I want to admit.

[audio] EEEE YES, YES IT IS ;u;

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-09 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[N is about to snarl again in the Xtransceiver (Why is she trying to "locate" him? It's like he's a common criminal!), but he stops himself so he can hear the rest of what she says.

A group... in the future. It doesn't take long for him to theorize; perhaps Iris doesn't know him because he hasn't made himself known yet. He's still locked in that room underground... But there's still the matter of death through battle. That never occurred in his world. And another thing:]

Jirachi...? The legendary Pokemon Jirachi? [Never mind that they exist in different universes; how did Ghetsis manage to find Jirachi?] Impossible.

[As she continues to speak, he finds another reason to snarl.] Before you begin to voice your insolent assumptions, believe this as truth: that man is just as much of an enemy to me as he is to you. Of course I would question the rules of your world-- they are cruel and barbaric. Even so, there is no reason to harm you... or Skyla. Do not dare to group me together with such a man as Ghetsis.

[audio] YES GOOD KUPO

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-09 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
[He huffs. It's frustrating to know that she would so easily make those assumptions... and even more so that, in her place, he's fairly certain he would do the same.

He is silent for a moment, before he decides, with a sigh, to drop the bomb:]
His name is Ghetsis Harmonia, correct? You have likely seen my Xtransceiver's label-- maybe you see it now, as I speak. My name is N Harmonia. [And he'll just let her figure that out. He doesn't want to say it out loud; Ghetsis is not his father, after all.]

... I do not care for keeping enemies. [Though he unfortunately seems to have a penchant for just that.] If you wish to speak to me further, do not look for me. I have... transformed. Perhaps you have as well?

[audio] (VERY GOOD)

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-09 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
[He was expecting that much. He sighs again, heavily.]

An Axew. [His ears are hypersensitive in this form; he hears that tiny "again", but isn't quite sure what to make of it. He pauses before continuing.] I suppose such a form suits you. You trained a Fraxure and a Haxorus, correct? [Or did she not in her odd parallel universe?]

Oh. [A slight whimper. Of course, he wasn't exactly on good terms with Iris to begin with, but, as he said, he doesn't care for keeping enemies.] I only meant do not look for me. I am... a Zoroark now. [Hence, the obvious canine sounds he can't seem to contain.] So I do not look... quite like myself right now.

Odd. You seemed so prepared to track me down, Iris. [A pause.] Tell me, do you fear me?

[audio]

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-10 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
... Yes. A Druddigon as well. Just as Drayden used, I believe. [He supposes it makes sense for her to not have her dragons; he recalls her saying she was Mistralton's gym leader, and that meant Flying-types.] You are called "the girl who knows the hearts of dragons"... [He found that title intriguing. He was almost disappointed to find out he would end up facing Drayden instead of Iris because of it.] It's strange, to think of you without Dragon Pokemon.

And yes-- that is what they are known for, I suppose. [Deception. Hello there, irony.

A small sigh.]
Very well. If you wish to speak with me, I won't run-- nor will I hide myself in any illusions. [Not that he had even figured out how to do that just yet.] As I said, I have to reason to hurt you. [And even if he did, he likely couldn't get himself to do such a thing.] And no reason to lie to you.

[He pauses, and some shuffling of sand can be heard; he's pacing.] Relic Castle. Shall we meet here?

[action]

[N doesn't bother trying to respond again. The sounds of Archeops' wings catch his attention, and he whirls around in alarm, prepared to run from whatever wild Pokemon has decided to attack him.

But he calms quickly; they don't seem very aggressive. His Darumaka toddles up to greet the descending pair, N's Xtransceiver in her hands. N continues to pace back and forth, anxious and wondering if he has made a terrible decision in revealing his lineage.

Thankfully, he doesn't have to wait long. Once Iris-- er, the Axew-- appears, he makes a beeline for her. Darumaka goes to his side, hustling to keep up with his four-legged stride. He stops a small distance away and tilts his head.]

... Hello. [Whatever disdain he had toward Iris weakens considerably at the sight of her. She looks just like any other frightened Axew, after all... Other than the badge hanging around her neck. Maybe that was something common amongst them all; his own pendant remained, as did his scars.]

[action]

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-11 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
[He can read her behavior more easily in this form; sensing her fear, he moves back a little.]
Hm. As I said before, I won't hurt you. There is no reason to be afraid. [He sits on his haunches and lowers his head, trying to look closer to her eye level.] Though I suppose my form might be... intimidating.

[Darumaka speaks up: "No need to worry, girlie! N might look like a big scary Zoroark now, but it's all just show. More bark than bite in this one!"

N looks slightly embarrassed by the comment, but doesn't respond to it.]
Well, Iris? Go on. Ask me your questions.

yeah LJ's kinda wonky for me too ;o; It's all good though, bro!

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-12 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
[A slight twitch-- something of a flinch.]
Yes. I am... was... his son. [He huffs, hiding the pain that statement causes him with anger.] But no longer. I refuse to carry that name anymore. I am simply N. Not defined by him.

[He pauses, thinking.] He did... cruel things. He fabricated a cause we all thought was just and true, but... turned out not to be. He manipulated people and Pokemon alike, and wished to destroy our world for his own selfish gain. [He averts his eyes.] I believed him for so long... He used me-- used all of us. [He growls.] Pawns.

[Darumaka pats one of his paws, and he forces himself to calm down enough to avoid snarling.] However, he never claimed a legendary for himself. And before I arrived here... I witnessed his arrest. [Then again, those memories were somewhat hazy on account of his shock. And this was Ghetsis they were talking about... As he considers it, N isn't quite sure a prison would hold him for long.] As far as I am concerned, Ghetsis is nothing.

[identity profile] the-nth-power.livejournal.com 2011-11-15 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks a bit surprised. So her Alder was already aware of the threat Ghetsis posed. But did he know of the threat N posed? ... Did N even exist in her world at all?]
... I see.

[And now this business about the future. He tilts his head questioningly.] Hm. I don't know. Perhaps I am, if you truly didn't recognize me.

[He falls silent at the question, remembering.] There was a trainer. One from Nuvema Town. [He laughs, just slightly.] I suppose he intended simply to claim the title of Champion, as so many trainers do... But he did much more than that. [He glances elsewhere almost wistfully.] He and his Pokemon not only defeated me, but Ghetsis as well. I suppose... I have him to thank for my second chance. [He glances back at Iris, then at his surroundings.] Though not quite the second chance I would have expected.
