[ The video opens to show four faces, two of which are peering into the device with curiosity while another two are looking distracted. Or perhaps just disinterested. It's two boys, one smaller with a Ponyta staring over his shoulder, and one older with a Cleffa held in his arms. Both are in dark jerseys and stripy stockings -- a team uniform, or something perhaps? ]

Hi! [Says the smaller boy.] I'm Tenma! Matsukaze Tenma! And this is... [He looks over to the other two.] ...Shindou Takuto. Pleased to meet you. [A stiff, polite nod from the older one.] Yeah, nice to meet you all! And, um. We were just wondering, do any of you guys know soccer? [The smaller boy is smiling cheerfully. Meanwhile, older boy is... turning away from the camera? He's hiding his face behind his sleeve... ] I mean, not like the soccer people play here, except it kind of is like it, just with special moves like Pokemon moves? If you do, we'd really like to talk to you! So please... reply or whatever! Thanks!

[The feed comes to an end shortly... after that Tenma boy spends a minute fumbling with the device to turn it off. Meanwhile, if anyone is paying enough attention to notice, the Shindou boy may or may not have just shed a tear or two in the background while his friend remains oblivious.]

Shindou, did you say something? [He turns around to blink at the other boy after shutting off the feed. Tenma your AU is showing-]

[ He'll just swipe at his eyes more (much to Cleffa's annoyance) and swallow hard. ]

H- hopefully. [ What if it's not ~*~real~*~ soccer though? What if the Fifth Sector is still in power here? ]

[The feed on this end clicks on to... the ground. Oops. An "Ack! I dropped it!" and some footsteps can be heard before the Xtransceiver is picked up and dusted off and a pink-haired kid appears on the feed, Swablu perched on his head. The same town can be seen in the background

He starts to say something, but then notices the uniforms and closes his mouth. Weren't those the Tengawara uniforms...?]

[Oooh. It's a reply! IT'S WORKING! Tenma fumbles around with his Xtransceiver a bit, too. You hold it like this- no, like THIS, right? Right.

There is a short pause while he stares right back at the pink-haired kid.]

...ah! Kirino?

Bluuuu~! [... If anything, Alto seems more enthusiastic about the whole thing, given how the little bird is enthusiastically pressing her face into the feed. Hey, hey, she recognizes you from one of Kirino's pictures!]

[Tenma's Ponyta nickers a greeting as it peeks over the boy's shoulder again.]

And I take it that one's yours? [Alto trills a greeting to the Ponyta happily.]

Rather close to the entrance of Route One a man can be spotted standing atop a rather enormous golem-type pokemon in nothing but a vest, headband, and pants. If one was familiar with pokemon as a game, they'd say he almost looks like a Zoroark in fact...

OH WELL.

He appears to be looking over the city and even the first route for someone, and he's not alone-

...Is that Kirino!?!

[ Unfortunately, Shindou is not familiar with the games, and thus the similarity goes right over his head. However, he is rather interested because the figure doesn't look 100% human, nor does it look like a Pokemon.

So he's going to wander over since he had wandered away from Tenma before they had recieved the message so he's pretty much alone and limping. ]

--Ah! [Kirino's eyes light up when he sees Shindou wander over because BEST FRIEND. He'll just turn a bit to the golem Pokemon he's perched on.]

Hey, Golurk, can you let me down?

The Golurk raises a hand to help them all down, though Otogi seems content to hop down himself.

He looks over. "Hey..!" he greets with a grin. He looks to Kirino. "Is this the one then?"

[Here, have a video feed of Kariya's face, inched a bit too close to the camera and smiling with uncharacteristic enthusiasm. He's by himself, at least for the moment -- presumably off somewhere, while Kirino and Hayami are spazzing.

Or maybe just too cool to play with the second-years.]

Tenma-kun...! Captain! Both of you must have just gotten here, right?

[Because, otherwise, surely they already would have said hello via the network!]

Actually, a lot of Raimon's squad ended up here, somehow. Where are you two? Kirino-senpai, Hayami-senpai, and I just got into Nuvema Town. But it's easy to travel there from Nimbasa, if you're there instead... [And, jeez, he could really use a first-year to tag along with them. Though Captain can come, too. He can help distract Kirino or something.]

Eh? Ah, we're in Nuvema... [Hold it hold it] -but Captain's not with us! And what do you mean, Raimon's squad?

[The defender's smile falters at his (not-really) teammate's confusion. It falls into a look somewhere between a 'What on Earth?' squint and a 'Stop being dumb' stare.]

And...Raimon's squad. Us and Shindou-captain and Hayami and Kirino.

[He's just starting to notice the weird soccer kit that the wingy-haired boy's standing in...]

No he- [Tenma's look is still mostly confused... until he suddenly comes to an apparent realization. His expression clears up visibly, so it's pretty obvious.] -Ah! I get it, you're not our Kariya!

[...he looks satisfied with this incredibly random statement of an explanation.]
