[It's a rather calm day, for anybody involved in the Badge or Ribbon Quest. At least, it seems that way for those not in Pinwheel Forest, where the gym leaders are deep in the forest. The forest is deep and dangerous, and they've been battling though it for this time. One of them looking for the missing skull, the other looking for the cause, for the terrified but evolved bugs and others.

But, of course, this is meant to be a secret.
However... one of their Xtransievers activated, as the battle continued - on all networks.

So! The audio message!]

L-Lenora! If I do not make our way out of this... please, promise me...

Quiet, Burgh! Of course we'll calm this... wait. I think that's the one.

It appears so... I think this is the scared creature of the forest. If we calm this one, the others - it's standing, Lenora! Get back - I know this forest much better. It shall not attack me.

And you were just sobbing. Leave it to me.

[And then, an inhuman roar, before the beast seemingly tackles the one who has the Xtransiever, as they let out a scream. The audio cuts out, replaced by a strange tone, and a message.]

WARNING. XTRANSIEVER NUMBER 08107 IS OUT OF ORDER. LAST KNOWN LOCATION: PINWHEEL INTERIOR.

[Oh... oh dear.

OOC: Okay! So this is the start of the event! I'll set up two threads now, one for transport and one for entering the forest. Soon, I'll set up a thread for actually going though the forest - but not straight away.]

[ Sephiroth walked near the head of the group, toying with a Restore Materia. He'd had to use it a lot more than he would have liked.

He didn't particularly care if anyone noticed that he'd been using something other than potions to heal his Pokémon. ]

Don't take this so lightly.

[ That was directed at Loki and anyone else that seemed to be treating this like a field trip. Sephiroth was not in a good mood. ]

Not too far from Sephiroth is Ryuzaki and his pole; his Axew is out as well, waddling beside him.

"...I don't think he is," is what's whispered somewhat hesitantly to him. Call it a hunch, but it felt more like it was a ruse actually...

[Batgirl observed the Triad member take to the shadows and tress, and contemplated following him; but decided it would be best to follow on the ground. Although she was suspicious of him, she figured he would stay nearby at the very least. No need to try and track him. Instead, she keeps to the shadows on the ground and stays out sight while observing and listening to the others' conversations and looking out for any signs of the dangerous Pokemon they were seeking.

Besides, she was more interested in keeping an eye on Sephiroth and Loki. Intense order for the tall one, and intense chaos in the child... this could be problematic...]

Homura simply followed the group along, walking somewhere in the middle while Kyubey slumped on her shoulders in his Espeon form.

Wow, I wonder what sort of creature we'll all be facing. I'm very curious as to how powerful this rumored Pokemon is, Kyubey remarked, but only to Homura. But his trainer made no real reaction.

Estelle, in the meanwhile, was very distraught that her earlier question wasn't answered, so she had tried catching up to Iris to ask directly.

"Ummm... So, what kind of Pokemon is Higgins, Iris?"

Yu, somewhat in the back, reminisced about the last time he came through this forest, and noticed Hazel somewhat tired. Or so he thought.

"You okay?"

[ Hazel had let herself get distracted so, it took her a second to realize he was talking to her. ]

Huh? Oh. Um... I'm fine.

[ Not entirely true but, not entirely false either. She was well enough to keep going at least. It didn't really matter too much that she was tired since her pokémon were going to end up doing most of the work, right? That's what she thought anyway. Hard to say whether she'd end up having to use her own powers today. ]

"Oh? You sure? Well, there's a lot of us so don't hesitate to ask if you need to be carried!" Yu joked, grinning.

But with such a straight face it was really giving off the feel that you should be the straight man in this comedy routine.

"I'm sure!" She really didn't want anyone to think she needed to be carried. It wasn't necessary and well, the awkwardness of it would make her want to hide under a rock for a month or two.

Well if you say so!

[>So you say, nodding your head and continuing to follow the rest of the group]

"Well!"
Iris said, as she lead the group.
"Higgins is what we call Virizion, the Pokemon of the for--"

Eep. Iris suddenly stopped. Why? Because, suddenly...

Said Virizion leaped in front of the group, angered. With a single injured leg... what are you gonna do with it? It looks violent...

[ Sephiroth's Emolga jumped into the trees instead of staying with him as he walked a bit closer to the angry Virizion. ]

Going to lash out at all humans now, are you?

[ Still getting closer. Slowly. How close can he get before it attacks him or someone stops him? Considering that his practice sword and the Masamune are both within equally easy reach, it's hard to say what exactly he intends to do. ]

[ And Hazel is really wishing she didn't come along. ]

Don't!

[ Don't what? She's not even sure what she thinks Sephiroth is going to do but, it's obvious whatever she's thinking is distressing. ]

"Ah!" Estelle yelped, jumping back and possibly colliding with some unfortunate person behind her before noticing the wound on the Virizion's leg.

"Oh you're hurt!" Way to state the obvious, Estelle. Without thinking she sent out her Audino and with one swift command.

"Heal Pulse!"

The Audino certainly complied, and sent a beam of healing energy toward the legendary Pokemon.

What really happened is unknown though.

Ryuzaki jumps somewhat, narrowing his eyes. "Hey I'm all for helping the wildlife but... Like he said," he continues, jabbing a thumb toward Sephiroth in gesture as he reaches for the pole he has, "Injured animals? Don't tend to react kindly to foreign presence..."

Of course, if Loki agrees there's no knowing that-

He seems to have vanished...

That was not good. If the move healed the Virizion but, didn't calm it down Estelle had just made it more dangerous.

"You may just have made things worse..." He'd been thinking to see if it would listen and calm down before attempting to heal it.

He stopped his approach of the creature. He had no clue just how powerful it was. Normally he wouldn't be concerned but here... there was the whole powers being seriously reduced thing. And thinking about that just made him cranky. He'd have to see if it was possible to recover his strength when they were done here.

Hazel would have been surprised to see she'd been thinking of attempting the same thing as Sephiroth. But she had no idea what he was thinking so that is kind of moot.

She just takes a few steps back since she's not exactly the most durable person around. Quite the opposite really. Her Espeon places himself firmly between her and the likely still dangerous Pokémon of the forest.

"How very right he is," Homura commented, moving to the foreground, though not sending out any of her Pokemon.

"Though whether we should call her too kind of naive is up to what this Pokemon does next, don't you think?" the magical girl suggested, calmly facing the Virizion.

"As you can see, we're not here to harm you," Homura spoke to the Virizion. "Though I'm quite sure you do not wish to handle so many at once." Homura gestured to the large group.

"Are the ones who attacked you still here?"

[The virizion snorts, the sound almost sounding like a snarl. Despite injury it attempts to back away, rearing it's head back.] VrrrrrrRIIIIIIIIII...!

[It appears to begin to charge something- and then the heal pulse strikes. The charging halts, and the virizion looks down toward its leg, now healed. And then, looking back toward the group, it stands; however, it does not move any closer or farther, apparently gauging the group before it.]

Meanwhile, Loki has managed to slip away around the Virizion, keeping to the trees as his murkrow follows.

"What do you see, Ikol," he whispers, the bird whispering something in his ear. He appears to gain a calculating glance, and nods. If he acknowledges an additional presence in the trees, he doesn't show it- merely moving ahead before looking down to what appear to be a small number of dazed, confused, and overall defeated folk in knight-like garb.

He grins. "Well now! This is a fine mess you've gotten into isn't it..!~" They must be the bad guy after all, they have generic identical costumes.

Only bad guys have those.

Sephiroth marginally relaxes his stance and half turns away from Virizion.

"You are not just a dumb, violent beast." Nothing like the monsters in his world.

He's ready in case it still decides to attack. Just not as obviously.

"You must understand by now that we are not all like the ones who injured you. There is no honor in continuing to lash out." Honor... he was starting to sound like Angeal. Too many dreams of times past lately, he supposed.

Did Pokémon even understand honor? Most likely. If they could appreciate poetry, why not?

[>You wonder what could've caused this incident in the first place. Could the culprit be nearby in any case?]

Do you think we could find the people who did this from the direction it came from?

[>So you suggest]

Ryuzaki swallowed, eyeing the beast before them with caution but otherwise attempting to seem less threatening.

As it were, he turns to Yu. "Most likely- but then, that involves getting around the thing..." And he's not entirely sure how well that will go.

Hazel probably would have just stood there waiting for the others to take care of things. If she hadn't noticed that Loki was gone.

She looked around to make sure she wasn't mistaken. Behind? Up? Nope, can't see him anywhere. Cloud seems to have an idea where to look and starts further into the woods when he realizes she wants to look for the boy.

She'll just follow her pokémon into the woods. She's not really paying attention to the fact that her current path would lead her around the Virizion. As long as it doesn't notice and decide not to let her anyway.

Has anyone even noticed that she's started wandering off?

"W-well it calmed down so it's alright!" Estelle pouted at Sephiroth, before approaching Virizion. Not... too close though.

"Um... I'm glad you're alright now, but we're looking for two people who tried to calm all the Pokemon down! D-do you know where we should start looking?" Estelle inquired to the legendary, her Audino somehow translating the words over just in case.

"Vrriiiiiii..." The pokemon gives a low sound, still staring down the party of people before it. In the end however, as the Audino speaks, it narrows its eyes before stepping aside.

You may pass in this direction, is what seems to be the message. But it will not let you take the other path, behind it. "Zzzn..!"

"O-okay everyone! L-let's go figure out what's up!" Estelle proposed, curtsying to Virizion and smiling in thanks as she and her Audino went deeper into the forest.

[ Sephiroth appeared to be ignoring the others for the most part. He wasn't. He'd been trying to identify who was likely to be unable to handle what was ahead. There were several. Those that had been in Unova less than a month and possibly a girl that was lagging behind.

The question was whether to try protecting them in the event things went bad or to let them fend for themselves.

Protecting the public had been a part of his job as SOLDIER but, he'd abandoned that along with everything else. Some habits were hard to break though. ]

If one is so inclined, now is probably the time to turn back.

[ A reminder that turning back was an option would do for now. ]
