FINALLY THE EVENT

WELCOME TO THE RELIC CASTLE

I shall be your guide and snarky narrator - replying to most comments with a bit of humour - acting as your Game Master for this adventure though this castle. The goal? To explore and find the Dark Stone. There are seven stories, and you will need to get to the bottom. Please note that if we don't wrap this up by Halloween, the Pokemonfication event will still be happening.

How this is gonna work? There's gonna be comments down there. When somebody solves the floor, then the next floor will go up. Simple? I sure hope so!

Oh, there was that voice again. Thomas had been thoroughly engrossed in investigating the walls -- archaeology was very popular in his time, especially Egyptology, and this place was very Egyptian -- but at the sound of the voice, he turned to try and find where it had come from. Over by the entrance! He adjusted his cap and made his way through the small group of people milling about, spotting Estelle and putting on a genial grin.

"Good day, Miss Heurassein!" Ha, good show, old boy, you remembered her name. What was the first name? Stella... Edna... something like that. "Welcome to the expedition!"

I USE THIS AVATAR BACK AND FORTH

"Oh! Mister Sinclair~ How lovely it is to see you again~" Estelle giggled, waving as Thomas called over to her.

"Ah~? Aren't these fantastic~? Just think, the ways of what ancient civilization used to reside here are just beneath our feet~!" Estelle exclaimed giddily.

Thomas smiled and tapped his foot experimentally on the ground. "Oh, yes, this is all very exciting. I've never been in an Egyptian temple before -- they had temples similar to this in India, but this is far more Egyptian. Oh! Sorry, that probably doesn't make sense to you." He laughs. He's actually really enjoying this little adventure, and he kind of wishes he had a pith helmet. That's what temple explorers wear, right? Very fashionable field, archaeology!

"The people here are implying that it's not safe, especially on the lower levels. Are you travelling with anyone? My friends are here also, and I'm sure they'd be very pleased to have you along!"

Egytian? Indian? Were those like Krytians? Estelle adamantly decided to nod understandingly before Thomas realized their worlds were a bit different.

"Ahaha~ It's fine~" Estelle replied, not minding Thomas' mishap. On the mentions of a group, however, Estelle's eyes sparkled.

"Oh! I actually came over by myself~! I hope the Doduo finds its way back home~" Estelle smiled. "And that would be excellent! Traveling in groups is a lot more fun~" Estelle giggled.

"Excellent! I'll just.. introduce you..." He trailed off as he looked around and realized that he has completely separated himself from the rest of his group. "Er. They are around here somewhere, I'm sure. Anyway."

He cleared his throat and rushed into a new topic to recover from that bit of awkwardness. "Did you manage the trip all right? I am fairly sure it is the strangest thing I have ever participated in, riding that... two-headed ostrich creature. Mine ran off into the desert as soon as we got here." He shook his head. His repeated assertion that this world didn't make any sense never ceased to gather supporting evidence. "But that's all right, I am just glad that they don't want us to do any digging or anything like that! I wasn't sure what to expect from that letter of theirs."

"Oh ye-" Estelle started, before Thomas seemed a bit nervous.

It looked like he was separated, oh boy. She decided to follow along with his other conversation.

"Well it wasn't as smooth of a ride as when I rode Ba'ul in my world but I think the little one was very quick~" Estelle replied. "I think we just have to explore the rest of the ruins? Is there some sort of staircase you think?" Estelle wondered, looking around.

He continued peering around the room, leaning forward on his toes to try and see over the people grouped around. N was nowhere to be found! It was as though he fell through the floor or something. Thus distracted, he merely nodded in agreement with the mention of a "Ba'ul" and barely caught the tail end of the rest of what Estelle was saying.

"Hm? ...Staircase? Oh! Yes, I think there is a staircase near here. I suppose we could just continue onward... Perhaps my friends are all ready ahead of us!"

[identity profile] brightvesperia.livejournal.com 2011-10-20 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Certainly! Let's make our way down then~" Estelle proposed, moving toward the staircase.

"O-oh! Yes, let's." Thomas hesitated before following somewhat meekly. Yes, hanging out at a base camp on the thoroughly explored and relegated first floor of a temple was all very fashionably adventurous, but venturing into its dark, allegedly very dangerous depths was another matter. Especially in a world that made as little sense as this one -- what horrors could its ancient ruins contain? And, he recalled bitterly, he didn't even have a proper weapon on him.

Sighing, he reached into his coat pocket and retrieved a Pokeball. "Better come out now, Dodger," he muttered as he called his Teddiursa out. Dodger grinned and bounded forward, matching Estelle'space. Thomas frowned and hurried to walk beside them. "Onward to adventure, I suppose," he said, trying to muster proper enthusiasm.
