EVENT POST - ARCEUS

 It happens so quickly. The news is broadcasting a feed as Champion Alder presents to two trainers each a scroll of sorts, cheers sounding in the background while the country watches in awe.

'For the first time in a number of years, two trainers have successfully attained championship within the same day! Leading Champion Alder is now presenting these two young trainers--Iris of Mistralton, and Yuuma Tsukumo--their very proof of success. I am told that with these medallions and certificates that they will in fact be able to restore full power to the entralink as well, finally allowing those from alternate worlds to return home at will--'

Perhaps you're watching. Perhaps you could care less, but just as the news announces what is likely a matter of top concern, the screen cuts to black.

As does everything else.

"I Greet You, Traveler."

And alone, you stand before the god of the Pokemon world... Along with all those who came to the realm against their will. "I Am Arceus," the great beast proclaims, voice echoing through your very mind. "And I Am That Which Called You To This Place...

"Though Perhaps," it continues, "I Did So Too Soon. There Are Matters Of Dire Consequence Upon The Horizon--Matters For Which I Have Sent A Herald Through To The Other Realms, With The Purpose Of Summoning All Those Whose Souls Are Alike Those Of This World. Be It In The Past, Or The Future," Arceus explains, "I Have Called You.

"However, It Would Appear My Message Became Fragmented--Those Who Would Be Unwilling To Aid This Cause, Those Who Are Not Yet Ready--They Were Summoned Here, And For That I Must Grant To You My Forgiveness. For That," Arceus booms, "I OFFER YOU A CHOICE!"

A choice?

"Two Years You Must Wait Before The Storm Arises--Two Years, And Only Then Will Your True Power Be Needed... If You So Wish To Assist. I Can Send You To Your Homes," it states, "And I Can Take You To The Time Of Two Years From Now, Or I Can Leave You Here To Prepare For Those Days. THE CHOICE IS YOURS!" Arceus roars.

"NOW, ANSWER!"

This is not the end of United One everyone--rather, it's just the beginning. For the next two weeks, a major overhaul will be in progress on the site, to get the plot running, and more importantly, offer a more organized and engaging experience in the game. For now, this thread will be open all those two  weeks, for Arceus to converse with the players--his choices are as follows:

One - Leave for home. Players taking this option get the chance for a mass drop--muns can refresh their roster so to speak. It's an easy-out really.

Two - Jump two years. The 'standard' option, and 'default'. If you do not respond to this thread, it'll be assumed this is your choice. Players will be taken to the game's updated center, and given a few things to get them started.

Three - Stay two years. An extension of the standard option that allows character development. Pokemon will NOT level up during this time, and Badges cannot be handwaved. More than likely players taking this option took a 'vacation' of sorts.

Note that those who entered contests will still get their prizes and results once the overhaul is done! I haven't forgotten you! The results will be announced at the next HMD, which has been bumped up to May 12.

In addition to this, players who go through the overhaul will be given a very special pokemon as a reward for bearing with. And with that, this is your moderator Usagi signing off and wishing you a fun experience!

and I think we decided Thor and Judai aren't going to know that they jumped forward until they get out of the forest, which should be soon after the overhaul is complete?)

Sephiroth regarded the creature before him with suspicion. The choices presented seemed reasonable but, he was far too paranoid to so readily accept it.

"What keeps the people that belong in this world from handling it?" he asked, keeping his voice neutral. He half expected the creature to be aware of his suspicion though.

The great beast looked down, the void around them seeming to allow its voice to 'echo'.

"Power," it states clearly. "And their own 'peace'. This world is one of harmony," the deity explains, "And as such those who would threaten it are few and far between.

"This time, however, your enemy threatens all realms."

Sephiroth frowned. To him those sounded like lame excuses. If a world didn't have anyone willing and able to defend it, maybe it wasn't worth saving.

The only thing relevant to him was the fact that the threat could eventually reach his own world if it was not stopped here.

"Why did you wait so long to reveal this?"

"Do your world's creators do so in times of strife then?"

Arceus does not falter in their words, apparently certain of the decision. "My power stretches to do what I must--I am here as well as all other places in time, and I have paid a great cost to enlist your aid. Do you doubt the worth of this world?" the deity continues, "Or do you doubt their ability? If I were to leave you to your own devices, fate would reveal the cause for your being here--there are times however, when mortal means alter the original moments in time."

"I wouldn't know." Information on the Planet's creators was impossible to find. Not even plunging into the Lifestream could bring answers there. And he wasn't exactly the first person a deity would contact to protect the Planet since, well, he was technically threatening to destroy it.

"I've abandoned more than enough." He supposed he could see this through even if he still doubted the worth of this world.

Silence, for but a moment.

And then, they speak again. "It is your choice," Arceus declares. "If you so wish to continue your path of abandonment, I will not stop you."

"No. I believe I'll stay." He smiled somewhat wearily before he went on. "Though I believe little could be gained from waiting around for two years." He was somewhat likely to change his mind or destroy several more acres of forest if he had to wait that long before anything of note would happen.

"I see." The god bows its head, eyes turning toward Sephiroth. "In that case, so be it! I shall deliver you to a time which will give you moments of preparation for the coming battle..."
