[The video seems like it's being held by a Pokemon.

That's because it is. The one who owns the camera is actually in the Route 1 stream, just relaxing, looking so calm. A few moments pass, until a Magikarp suddenly lands on the relaxing guy.]
Huh?
[And the guy - Tidus - was woken up. He'd gone to sleep? In the sun? He turns to the camera, though, and gives a smile.]
Hey -- [he said, with a laugh,] what're you doing?
[He tried to stand, before another Magikarp flung itself onto him.]
Anyway, I'm kind of new around here. My name's Tidus!
[...]
What sort of sports league does this place have? I'm sure there's not a Blitzball Arena, but is there anything like it?
[He's got such a smile, even as more Magikarp are piling on him.]
It doesn't really matter. As long as this place is Calm, it's nice. It could be-
[He really does look relaxed, mind, until a Magikarp hits his face, and down he goes into the water, mid-sentence.

Don't worry, he's fine. The video is off, though, Yamask has gone off to help get these fish off of him.]

...Um, there are a couple stadiums in Nimbasa City but, I'm not really sure the sports are very similar to Blitzball.

[ At least you're not someone she's terrified of. She still tries to pretend Sephiroth doesn't exist. ]

[The video comes back soon, mind you, and Tidus is still sitting in the shallows, a few Magikarp still around, struggling a bit.

That's a weird look, though. It's not scared, though. He's glad of that. He gives a smile, before thinking a little.]
Well, that makes sense - this place isn't Zanerkand or Spira, I didn't know if this Unova had anything like it. But it didn't hurt to ask!

[ Hazel manages to stop staring but, awkward. ]

I wouldn't say I know a lot but, I know some stuff.

[ It helps her sleep at night, at least. That and power the reduction thing this place has going. Never would have thought that it'd be a comfort until she saw Sephiroth on the network. ]

Well, the seasons are weird. They last two months and there is no gradual change between them.

And there's the Pokémon of course... Um, how much have you been told about them and what to do with them?

[Hoookay. Tidus is just stunned a bit, before giving a bit of a smile.]
So, what you're saying is that I could be resting during a nice summer, and then leaves would fall down everywhere as the month changed?
[Strange. But then, he looks to his Yamask.]
These guys are Pokemon, right? They look kind of like fiends... but they act more like Aeons. This one tried to remove all those fish...
[flop flop, there's still magikarp.]

Yeah, something like that. It should be Spring in a couple weeks so, you'll probably see it yourself then.

[ She watches the Magikarp flop around for a few seconds. ]

...Yeah, they're Pokémon. Haven't seen any creature that isn't one of them or a person since I got here.

[...Really? Tidus suddenly stops, before his face turns a bit serious.]
There's really none? At all?
[It might not seem to matter to her, but Tidus is suddenly looking a bit more relaxed. Perhaps he was stopped. Perhaps this is the Farplane... well, actually, it wasn't the Farplane. But it might be like it.
He suddenly grins.]
I kind of heard, though. We fight with these guys, right?

None that I've seen. [ And she doesn't really expect to see any. ]

Yeah we can fight with them. And enter them in contests or just have them as companions. Lot of people challenge the gyms some towns have. [ She considered it herself until contests became an option. Might be considering it again because there's a chance it wouldn't be any more stressful than getting up in front of a crowd for the contests and she wouldn't have to wait a month between each one. ]

Some do a bit of everything.

Well, that's a relief! Means there's no fiends.
[Means he's never gonna wanna leave, more like.]
Hey, that all sounds fun. Contests, though... man, it'd sure be nice to be on stage again. [He said, crossing his arms.] Is that what you do? Or are you going after the gyms?

Yeah, I do contests... [ She shifts uncomfortably. ] I'm having trouble getting used to the crowds though. [ As in she's not used to them at all and has to force herself to go out to show off her Pokémon. And she feels like she's going to be sick the whole time. ]

[Crowds? Tidus is good with them!]
When I was younger, I was a bit nervous too, when I was blitzballing. The key is - at least, when you're nervous - is that you've got to ignore they're there - you've got to just go for it!

I've tried. Guess I'm not really cut out for that sort of thing. [ Seems like she might be considering giving up but... ]

Zack loves doing it though and it's only about once a month. [ She thinks she can deal with it as long as it isn't too often. ]

[Poor derpy Ryoji doesn't take the hint that Tidus is okay, and is now panicking, screaming at his transmitter.]

Are you okay? Please don't drown!

Tidus pops back on screen with a smile soon, and a bit of a laugh. There's still a few Magikarp flopping around him, of course.]
Of course I'm okay! A few fish like that - well, the Ace wouldn't drown that easily!
[Or at all, being Leviathan basically.]

[~~dude if I could sense that right now I would... probably just wibble.~~

Ryoji sighs in relief, smiling a little.]

Good! I was worried for a second. Some Pokemon can be mean!

[Judging from his bandaged finger where his Duskull bit him.]

[~~yeah well just save up your wibbles until we meet, dude.~~
Tidus looks up a bit.]
I guess they would be - they're like animals, I guess. I've never really seen this many fish around, though. Not even when travelling by sea!
[Magikarp are just flocking to him, and letting out cries.]

[~~Alright I'll start a little pile of wibbles then.~~]

They are a lot like animals!

[Ryoji watches the Magikarp leaping around, and can't help but laugh.]

I think they like you!

I guess they do. [It sounds like it, anyway.

Is it normal to understand these Pokemon? I can't understand Yamask, but these fish...

H-Huh? I don't understand mine, but... maybe those fish can talk or something? I don't know, I didn't hear them say anything.

[Shrugs. Ryoji's new here, so he's still trying to figure out what can and can't happen.]
