[ Sephiroth is not in view. Instead he is recording Minerva who is creeping up behind a Ninetales. He apparently evolved Genesis with a fire stone recently. ]

I find myself wondering if there is any evidence of a Ninetales actually putting a curse on someone for grabbing one of its tails.

[ He's trying to decide whether to stop Minerva from pouncing on one of Genesis' tails. That's what he assumes she's plotting to do anyway. ]

Perhaps letting Minerva find out the hard way to teach her a lesson would be... excessive.

[ Understatement of the century. He'll probably stop her before she pounces. Probably. ]

Hard to say. Genesis has an unpredictable temper at times. [ He's watching Minerva carefully as she inches closer, still undecided whether he's going to stop her. ]

Well, as long as it's not life threatening it's probably no worry.

Definitely work with teaching a lesson right?

Hnn. If there is any fact to the legends he may be too young for that sort of power. [ And he half expects the Ninetales wouldn't get that angry at the Emolga. For reasons. ] Perhaps I will let them be.

Heh! If he just evolved I'd definitely say so.

[ Minerva must be ignoring the conversation because she is still creeping closer to the relaxing Ninetales. Sephiroth has decided to just see what happens. ]

We'll find out any moment now.

[ The Emolga is certainly taking her time though. ]

[He smirks.] I wonder if she'll try pouncing on something else actually...

[Avoid the curse then? Hmm.

[ Well, Sephiroth's assumption that she was going to pounce was partly wrong. She's going for the tails but, not exactly pouncing. She burrows under them causing Genesis to quickly lift his head from its resting position with a pretty clear 'What the Hell!?' look on his face. ]

That was... unexpected.

[ He chuckles as the Ninetales slowly turns his head to look at his tails confusedly as they get a little extra poofy from the Emolga's static. ]

Hehehe! Maybe!

If they're both pokemon though, then maybe she already knew about the curse thing herself!

[ Genesis lifts his tails to see Minerva. He huffs at her and turns around to pull them away. ]

Doubtful. She will often rush into things without knowing what could happen.

[ She pouts and makes a sound that could be described as equivalent to 'Pleeeaaase?'. ]

[Shrugging]

Hey, we've been talking about it enough.

[...Point.]

She wasn't listening. [ And neither was Genesis apparently since he was obviously very surprised to have her burrow under his tails. ]

Still isn't.

[ All her attention seems to be on begging Genesis to let her curl up under his tails. He resists the puppy eyes for now. ]

[Another shrug.] Well, never know.

Maybe she got lucky.

Perhaps. Or Genesis is more fond of her than I was aware.

[ The Nintales giving in to the puppy eyes supports this theory. ]

Eh? Hn. I doubt it. On Earth most of those myths came from humans who were up to no good. If it's between friends I wouldn't worry so much.

[He looks away from the camera long enough for a few yips to be heard, and then turns back with a shrug.]

It depends on the nature of the fox, really.

Hmm. Perhaps they will be fine. [ They do get along despite their difference in disposition after all. ] I try not to interfere in their interactions unless they get out of hand.

H-Hey! You should stop her! It might not be true, but it still sounds bad!

[ He doesn't get around to answering for a while. By the time he does the Ninetales and Emolga are curled up together with the fox's tails curled around them both. ]

It seems there was no need to be concerned.

[ Of course the question of whether the Ninetales could curse someone has not been answered. ]

O-Oh, good!

[A-Aw, cute! Ryoji kind of forgets to keep the conversation going, too busy cooing at the Pokemon.]

It seems I may need to keep a closer eye on them.

[ He's read enough about Pokémon to know these two are in the same breeding group. ]

I have no desire to go into breeding.

B-Breeding? Pokemon can fall in love~?

[He's knows that's not quite what the term means, but oh well, cute Pokemon! And cute Pokemon in love!]

Maybe you can just let them cuddle?

It does not seem to be a requirement for breeding but, apparently they can indeed fall in love.

[ Not that he's ever had the misfortune of falling in love. ]

I've heard they won't produce eggs while being watched.

Oh! Well, then as long as you keep an eye on them!

Which shouldn't be hard. They are really cute...

[ So very deadpan. ]

There are more productive uses for my time.

If you don't want to watch them, I will...

[He's mainly joking, but...]

That won't be necessary. [ He'll just take a longer break from training than he'd planned. And he takes guess at something because well, he doesn't have anything better to do while keeping an eye on the cuddling Pokémon. ]

I take it you are more inclined to go into Pokémon breeding than to challenge the gym leaders?

Ah! Um, maybe? I'm still pretty new, so I don't really know what I want yet!

But challenging the gym leaders means fighting, right? I don't really want to do a lot of that.

There is indeed a great deal of fighting involved in challenging the gyms. Just training your Pokémon to become strong enough involves numerous battles.

[ And he's not even thinking of the other trainers in the gyms that will sometimes insist on challenging people before they even get to the leaders. ]

Beyond doing nothing at all, the path that requires the least amount of fighting would be the beauty contests.

Right, I heard of those... I'll have to fight a little though, so I can get a cuter Pokemon than this little guy.

Some battling may also be necessary if you intend to travel alone. [ Of course he notices the discontent of the Duskull. ]

I hope you don't intend to neglect your Duskull once you catch something else.
