[video] Icirrus is cold

[ Hazel is getting over a cold. Aside from a little sniffling here and there she seems mostly okay though. She's inside with blankets and hot tea though. And she's got a baby Eevee cuddled in her arms. ]

Was gonna put his egg away 'cause I wasn't sure about hatching it anymore but... well, couldn't get to a PC since I was stuck in Dragonspiral Tower.

[ The Eevee's ears perk up curiously. What is that thing and why is she talking to it? ]

I can plan to find someone who wants it while it's still an egg but, I don't even want to think about giving him up now... Guess it'll have to be eggs if I ever get around to the business part of breeding.

[ Not that she actually done any breeding on purpose yet. Unless you count catching an Eevee just because her Arcanine was fond of it. ]

...Would it be considered irresponsible to um, keep enough Eevee to have one of each of its evolutions just because?

I would ask if that were possible, however it just now occurred to me that those with Breeders Liscence have a larger limit of pokemon they are allowed to have with them during journeys-

If there are seven evolutions, then, provided you had the rights to more than eight, and were able to care for them well enough, I would fail to see anything 'irresponsible' about it.

Well... I'm pretty sure I can take care of them... It just kind of seems irresponsible to get them just because they're cute.

[ Hazel, you are a teenage girl. You are allowed to want cute things that you know you can take care of. She still feels a little silly for wanting them though. ]

It is irresponsible to consider such a thing?

[ She agrees even though she is one. ]

It does not seem to be, in my opinion. So long as it is not the only reason in caring for them after the fact, I would assume it is fine.

[ She hugs her new Eevee a little closer. Of course the Eevee has been staring at the video with a sort of freaked out look on his face thinking something like 'Aahhh, it's talking back!' It's his first time seeing her use it. He'll get used to it soon enough. ]

I don't think it's the only reason. [ She's pretty sure she'd still care for them even if they weren't cute and fuzzy. ]

Then it is assuredly not 'irresponsible', I should think.

Makes sense. Just wasn't sure of myself. I guess I was being silly. [ The Eevee has calmed down but, still eying the talking thing warily. ] They're a lot more than cute.

[ Slight hesitation. ]

I kinda want to do something nicer than just saying thanks but... [ Hard to do more than that over the feed. Though she thinks her cold is probably still a bit contagious and she has no idea if Astral can get sick since he became solid so, it'll probably wait a bit if she comes up with something. ] I'm not sure what.

Alright. I will. [ She's not going to go nuts trying to get them though. ] Shouldn't be too soon though. I'm going to try to take my time with the rest.

Hey, Hazel-san!

[Oh hello. Probably the first time they've been able to talk since the whole rescue thing. He's pondering over her question now.]

Um, I don't think so, at least...

Hi, Subaru. Are you still in Icirrus?

[ She is but, hasn't been out much because she doesn't want to be spreading germs. She's got a giant puppy that wants to meet you properly and right after rescue didn't seem like a good time for that. ]

Just seemed silly at first. To decide to take care of four or five more Pokémon just because they're adorable. Seemed immature at least.

[ Sometimes she worries about being young for her age, if that makes any sense. ]

Yeah, I am.

And you can get whatever Pokemon you like, can't you? It's not like you have to battle with them or anything...

[Meanwhile, Subaru worries that he's acting little too old for his age. Or War-Rock worries, anyway.]

Anyways, are you feeling any better from what happened in the tower?

Guess you're right. Probably worrying over nothing. [ She is a worrier. She's just about convinced it'll be okay for her to get them as long as she takes her time now. ]

I'm okay. I got a cold while I was there but, it's almost gone now. [ Not really in the mood to talk about how tired she was and the reason for it. ]

Um, if you're not busy and don't think you'd get sick... At least two of my Pokémon want to say hello properly.

I'd love to meet them, if you and they are both up to it.

[Giggle.]

Fresh air will probably be good for me as long as I don't stay out in the cold too long. [ She's been staying in since the rescue. She's almost as restless as her Pokémon are. ]

Is outside the Pokémon center in about ten or twenty minutes convenient for you?

Yeah, that's fine!

Okay. See you there in a bit.

[ She doesn't take long to get ready and get out there once she cuts the feed. She's still holding the Eevee and she lets out a couple more of her Pokémon right away. Zack shakes himself and is clearly excited to be out and about again. Cloud also gives himself a shake but, other than taking a quick run as soon as he's out he seems calm enough.

Maybe she should have warned Subaru about possible pouncing from the giant puppy though. Oh well. It'll be okay. she knows from experience that Zack can pounce without hurting someone. ]

[As it is, Subaru only has Rocky out when he approaches the Pokemon Center. While Subaru does know about how affectionate Zack can be, he's kind of forgotten about the pouncing bit. He's completely open for a pounce attack.]

[ Zack sees Subaru before Hazel does. She doesn't realize what he's rushing off for until it's too late to stop him. There's a happy bark meaning roughly 'Hi, Hazel's friend!' before pouncing impact. If Subaru doesn't cover his face there will be some doggy kisses too. ]

Aah, I'm sorry. should have warned. You're okay, right?

[ rushing over and belatedly remembering to try to control her overenthusiastic big dork of an Arcanine. ]

Zack, behave.

Ah-!

[And Subaru is knocked on his back due to overexcited Arcanine. At least he starts giggling when doggy kisses happen.

Rocky, on the other hand, looks poised and ready to fight. Oops.]

Ahahahaha! I-it's okay! [He giggles as he eventually tries to put a hand on Zack's snout to push him away.] This is Z-Zack, right? [Still out of breath from all that giggling, hold on.]

[ Zack sits back to let him get up. He's wagging his tail happily and is either unaware or ignoring Rocky's readiness to fight. ]

Yeah. He's really friendly.

[ The Eevee in Hazel's arms is cuddling as close to her as he can. He's a shy one and she's trying to get him used to being around other people. ]

Um, sorry about forgetting he'd do that.

[ Well, Subaru doesn't seem upset but, Rocky does. The apology might be directed at the Pokémon as much as his trainer. ]

[Rocky seems to huff, once Zack isn't regarded as a danger, the Lucario goes back to a stiff, yet somewhat relaxed stance. Meanwhile Subaru doesn't get up yet, rather, he sits up and starts ruffling the Arcanine's face-what fluffy fur!]

He is! I bet you two get along really well, Hazel-san.

Yeah. We're good for each other I think.

[ Cloud decides to approach after a moment. After a long look he nods his head. He's not so good at projecting coherent thoughts at anyone besides Hazel yet but, he's trying to let you know he thinks you're trustworthy. ]

Um, Cloud's not as outgoing but, I don't think he'd mind an ear rub.

Haha, he's pretty calm, compared to Zack.

[You're getting that ear rub, Cloud, even as he holds up a teasing finger to the Arcanine.]

You could stand to learn something from him, you know!

[ Zack sticks his tongue out. That's no fun. Cloud responds by using a bit of psychic power to fluff the fur on Zack's head so it's sticking straight out. It looks silly enough to make Hazel giggle at least. ]

He has his silly moments.

[ Shaking his head doesn't do much so Zack makes an attempt to get Cloud with a pounce, which is dodged. They calm down quickly enough. They've been cooped up long enough that they don't want to risk Hazel deciding they're being too rowdy to stay out while she's talking with Subaru. ]

Cloud.

[ He knows what she wants and Zack's hair deflates to its normal amount of fluffiness. ]

[Subaru giggles at their antics even as he stands up. Rocky, meanwhile huffs proudly, at least until Subaru raises an eyebrow at him.]

Don't act like you're any better, Rocky. [The Lucario has the decency to look a little sheepish, at least.]

I think just about everyone does something silly sometimes.

[ She steps over to put the Eevee on Zack's back. it promptly crawls onto his head and tries to hide in the fluff. Zack's going to be sitting still for a little while so he doesn't dislodge the small Pokémon. ]

Nothing to be ashamed of.

Hehe, of course not, as long as it's not hurting anyone.

[Subaru chuckles quietly as the little Eevee actually does make Zack sit still for a bit. It's strange seeing him sit still after seeing him as a huge energetic fluffball.]

[ Well, the Eevee is still a baby and he doesn't want it to get hurt. ]

He's careful about that. Somehow.

[ She's still not entirely sure how he manages to pounce without hurting someone. A chilly breeze makes her decide to lean on the Arcanine for some extra warmth. ]

Well, this Eevee is a baby, right?

[That's what it sounded like, judging by her earlier video feed.]

Everyone's careful around babies! [Speaking of, Subaru's standing up on his tip toes to get a better look at the little Eevee. It's cute!]

Yeah. He hatched in Dragonspiral.

[ Zack carefully crouches down to make it easier to see. The fur on the Arcanine's head isn't quite thick enough to be a good hiding place but, the little Eevee is still giving it a shot. ]

It's okay, Hope. Subaru is really nice.

[ The baby lifts his head a little to get a better look but, doesn't make a move to get out of his nest of fur. ]

...He's shy.

I can see that.

[He smiles a bit.]

It's okay, Hope. If you're not ready to come out yet, I mean. When you're ready, you can come.

[ Hope makes a little sound and settles down. He seems a bit more relaxed but, he's not going to open up that easy. ]

Aww, you can stay there 'til we go back inside then.

[ Zack looks a bit disappointed at having to stay still longer but, he loves cuddling so he's actually okay with it. ]

Maybe another time. He's better around people he's met more than once or twice.

Hehe.

[Subaru smiles a bit.]

I can understand that. He kind of reminds me of how I used to be.

I was too... still am a lot of the time but, not as much. [ One reason she still travels with just her Pokémon. She finds Subaru really easy to talk to though. ] Guess being here is kind of good for me.

Yeah...that, and you've got such great friends now, ne, Hazel-san?

[He gives Zack another petting, and with that it becomes pretty clear that he's referring to her Pokemon.]

Yeah, not just them.

[ She thinks of Subaru as a friend too. And a few other people. Still has more Pokémon than human friends though. She starts stroking Zack's side while Cloud comes over and sits on her foot. He's probably gonna start trying to get get her to go back inside where it's warm in a couple minutes. ]

Hehe. You're right, we're friends too, right?

[D'aww. Feeling's mutual.]

Yeah...

[ After only a moment of debate she takes a step closer to Subaru and gives him a small hug. And then she moves right back to where she was and goes back to petting Zack. Don't mind her awkward silence. She's just shy about hugging people. ]

[Subaru's a little surprised at the sudden physical contact, but he's able to get a small hug back before she lets go. He doesn't comment on it, but a small giggle shows he's not mad about it, just a little surprised/]

[ She doesn't really feel the need to fill the silence with conversation. Just being near friends is nice and she's a bit reluctant to go back inside. But cloud gives her a nudge and a meaningful look. She sighs. ]

...You're right. I should go inside before I end up sick for another week.

[ She picks the Eevee up off of Zack's head and turns to smile at Subaru. ]

We'll see you around, okay?

Yeah, of course! See you later, Hazel-san!

[He'd kind of forgotten she was sick, the little doof.]

[ Zack gets up to go but, before they head inside he puts his head on Subaru's shoulder and brings a paw up to his side in a sort of hug. ]

Heh. Later, Subaru.

[ And her Pokémon follow as she heads inside the center. ]

[You get more pettings for that, Zack. Bawww.]
