5th Planet from the Sun | [Video/Action]
[This particular video feed is awfully shaky. All the same, it's not hard to recognize the interior of Striaton City's gym. A Mawile, looking rather battleworn and weary, is squaring off against an equally battered Panpour.]
Come on, Reize! Bite, again!
[The camera's angle fumbles about, and there's a flash of green-ish blue hair and Kariya's anxious face before it's back to the two combatants -- now with Reize's back jaws locked around the Water-Type. There's a harsh clamp down, and...the little simian goes limp.]
Alright! We got him!
[...and, just as soon as that (sort of surprised!) cheer comes off, the video cuts to black.
When it returns, a fair stretch later, things have moved over to the café portion of the gym. All five of Kariya's Pokémon are crowding around one of the tables, mostly patched up but still tired from their brawl. Their trainer looks just too pleased with himself. He's over the moon. He's got his badge case sitting out and open, and his arms tossed around the neck of a newly-grown Liepard. Ceres, still getting used to life as Furret, is getting into the spirit too, curled up around his trunk.]
Hey, hey. Everyone smile...!
[And he tries to aim the transceiver to get a good shot of all of them. Even if Pluton's the only one putting real effort into a smile, with a big ":D" marked across his back.]

[He doesn't need you to buy snacks for him, Kirino, jeez.
You're not Hitomiko.Though, when one of the butler-uniformed staff wanders over, he'll happily start ordering way too large a portion of the menu. Iced coffee and cake for him, and a smorgasboard of treats for the conquering heroes.]
Want anything, though? You can pay for yours.
[Action]
[He'll just be hanging around the gym for a while anyway, and he'd much rather get something once he earns the badge (and discount).]
[Action]
[Kariya shrugs, while Pluton gives a weirdly sing-song cry over at Alto...which is both a "Gotta go eat!" and an invitation to come share. Hopefully his trainer got him something that Flying-Types and Bug-Types both like?]
Know when you're going to challenge here, yet?
[Action]
Probably later today or tomorrow. My team and I will be facing off with Cilan, most likely. [Which means Constance will probably be left on the sidelines...]
[Action]
[Kariya nods. Meanwhile, their waiter is sweeping back to put down dishes and drinks and bowls to fill up the table.
Pluton and Ceres are getting to split a bowl of some sweetened, cooked berry-thing, so the spider bounds onto the table-top and points it out to Alto. Before sticking his head in the bowl to dig in.]
Great. So, after that we just need Hayami to do it, and we can probably get going, right?
[Even all these sweets can't make him less antsy about getting out of Striaton...]
[Action]
[Alto joins Pluton and Ceres, happily trilling a greeting to the Furret and settling in.
There's a long pause as Kirino watches the Pokémon, but eventually he turns back towards Kariya.] ... They all did a really good job.
[Action]
[Kariya disguises the truly goofy smile that brings to his face with a long, cold sip of coffee and a glance over at his feasting team. Ceres is utterly abusing her new, elongated body, curling behind Alto and Pluton and still poking her head in the bowl for a berry.
Pluton predictably seems to think this is awesome.]
...I wasn't ready for it to be such a tough fight, but none of them gave up.
[Action]
[Action]
[Ugh, stop it, Kirino, he can barely handle feeling this pleased with everything already. So hard to look cool and collected when you're grinning like a kid.]
None of them were even strong against Water-Types...
Maybe we should've fought Cilan, too, so Pluton could've gotten in more.
[See, now he's lost all sense of proportion.]
[Action]
... Congratulations on the evolutions, too.
[Action]
[He might be even more pleased by those than he is by the badge-win. He looks over to where Suisei is standing by the table, a candy-snack sticking out of his mouth.]
They're both great. I knew Sentrets evolved early on, but...I didn't even expect Suisei to change like that.
[He can't get over it, he has an amazing, dark leopard-thing now, and it's so pretty. The Liepard just finishes off its treat and brings up a front paw to lick with a vain, little smile. He can't get over how amazing he is, either, so it's no wonder his trainer's so impressed.]
[Action]
[Action]
[Kariya says mischievously...although Suisei's already trying out the upside of his new form, slinking over to Kirino and brushing against his legs.
He's done eating, attention please.]
[Action]
[Action]
[His trainer's just going to grin over at the affectionate way the big cat butts its head against Kirino's hand and gives a rumbling purr at him.
It's theoretically possible he's trying to butter up one of his better targets in advance.]
[Action]
It's almost like they've got a rivalry of sorts, honestly.
