[Action] Ninth Shooting Star - Between a Rock and a Hard Place

[It's lucky for Subaru that Yuuma and Loki have been so understanding about him wanting to explore Chargestone. It's honestly really fascinating-the fact that War-Rock is now visible (sadly, not solid) thanks to the strange electromagnetic energies of the floating stones there really does prove his theory true after all! There really is denpa here similar to that of his own home!

It also helps that as many ghosts that have been wandering around these days, they tend to avoid the pools of light of the cave's stones and stick to its shadows...good thing too, Subaru still sometimes has a hard time hanging around Muzumuzu sometimes when he remembers exactly what type it is.

Of course, that doesn't stop one particular species of ghost Pokemon from occasionally sneaking into Subaru's backpack and making off with the samples of electromagnetic stones that he's procured.]

O-Oiiii! Stop eating those, get your own!!!

"WUeeeeehehhhhhh this place is so cool..!!~" Yuuma's having an absolute ball now that they're in the depths it seems; the cool electric blue of the place just makes him think of adventures, stories, the things in his dad's attic..!

Astral as well is visibly interested in the place, even if, due to the caravan, it took them twice as long to navigate. "These stones seem to give off an incredible source of energy," he observed, holding one in his hands. "It would appear, in fact, that they create it in an entirely self-sustained manner. Though it would be impossible to tell without going out side..." He trailed off, looking toward where Subaru was last. "Ah-!"

S-Sableye!!!


"EH- S-Subaru!" Yuuma shouts. "OIII!! Get away from him!"

[Too bad your usual partner for intellectual discussion and theory is kind of distracted, Astral. He's currently hiding behind one of the larger electrical rocks and trying to bat at the Sableye with his bag without actually having to get close to them.

It's not working out too well.]

Get-away! Argh! [And he's finally had enough to reach for a Pokeball and toss it.] Get them away, Leo!

"Kuribolt, Muzumuzu!" Yuuma orders, and the pokemon shoot forward.

The Sableye, for their part, hiss, quite clearly unamused at the interruption of their meal.

[Meanwhile, Leo hisses and growls right back. Yuuma's and Subaru's Pokemon are well above the level of any Pokemon in Chargestone by now, so the Sableye know better than to pick a fight. They eventually slink off.]

"Phew! That was pretty easy~" No shit you guys, wonder why the pokemon haven't really been levelling up as of late?

Astral in the meantime inspects the stones. "Mnn. It would appear that the ones nibbled upon by the Sableye have dimmed..."

[Subaru sighs, and separates the damaged stones from the ones that remain intact.]

Yeah, I keep noticing that...I wonder if there's some sort of special property of these stones, like maybe they have some chemical reaction going on inside them. Like a battery. Only...that would imply that there's a limit to these stone's powers, and there obviously isn't...

"It could be that the limitations are tied more to the cavern we're within at this moment, correct? ...Mnnn." As if to test, he holds the stone against one of the larger deposits; it seems to spark somewhat in response, and though Astral jumps, (as does Yuuma), the stone regains its glow. "aaah..."

[Yes, Subaru did jump as well. Surprise.]

Does that mean the energy itself...the cave is generating it somehow? What kind of properties...

[Wow. Intense staring at these stones now.]

"Errr... Maybe it's further underground?" Yuuma, stop trying to science.

Totally! I bet it's got something to do with like, where these rocks are coming from, and that's further down, ain't it?

[Meanwhile, Subaru's not sure whether Yuuma and War-Rock legitimately have an idea there or if they're not sciencing good.]

"Perhaps if we were to seek a way to dig further... It would appear that the caravan cannot travel any deeper, at any rate; the roads begin to travel upward from here."

I guess that's the cavern part...if we dig any deeper without proper excavating equipment, we'd probably disturb something.

"Aah, that's true. It's entirely possible that there are far more powerful beings in the depths."

...As Yuuma busies himself with herding his pokemon back to said caravan.
