002 - video/action for somewhere near Striaton

[The video turned on with a rather loud click, having fallen to the ground - the view's a little obscured, but from the looks of it, Shindou and his Whismur are being ganged up on by... some sort of huge, glowing, amorphous blob!
A gang of nasty Gastlies, making a menace and deciding Shindou is the perfect target for their harrassment; and sadly, Poco's not too strong of a Whismur to help, and his Trapinch is in his ball at the bottom of Shindou's bag - meaning the piano prodigy's not going to get out of this safely...

... Or is he? Just when the Gastlies decide to start hounding on their prey, a little Golett jumps out of the bushes, tackling a Gastly out of the way! And off screen.

Which may prove for the better, because it sounds like the poor thing's getting ganged up on.]

H-hey, leave it alone!

[And that's when the feed clicks off for now, Shindou's hand having come down on the Xtransciever laying in the grass next to him.]

[When it comes back on, it's on purpose this time - Shindou covered in cuts and bruises and sitting in the grass to a Golett that looks just as beat up. Seems the little guy decided to try and keep Shindou safe...]

... Is it normal for wild Pokemon to flock like that?

[Shindou and his Pokemon actually had to wait until the Gastlies got bored of tormenting them and left --]

Friendly-neighborhood zoroark in disguist on his way, and he's got his own first partner with him- Golurk.

Initially the two were just coming after the particularly nasty feeling they were getting from the air, but with only the aftermath remaining they stare. "Oh-" Yikes... "Looks like someone needs a trip to the pokemon center..." No shit Otogi.

... Yeah, that would be... for the best.

[For him AND the Pokemon... He can't help sighing about this; aches all over....]

He nods- and Golurk lowers one of her hands. "Here- we'll give you a lift then!"

[Oh - he'll just... stumble onto the Golurk's shoulder then, returning Poco and his new Golurk into their Pokeballs first.]

... Is this what my new team member is going to evolve into?
It's amazing!

"Ehshshshshhshs~" Wow Zoroark laughing is creepy. "She is isn't she? It'll take a lot of work, but if you and your new friend work at it, it'll happen."

And guess what!

[To think, his little Golett could be like this some day -]

"Hahaha, I guess! Golurk can't fly too far just yet though, she's still practicing."

It's still extraordinary - to think a Pokemon like this can even fly at all...

[.. He pats her shoulder a bit, curiously. That's some solid ghost.]

So my new Pokemon's a ghost too, then... Now I shouldn't have to worry about all ghosts being terrible, at least.

"Ghost-Ground specifically. They're spirits within stone automatons." Oh that explains it.

"Careful though, the typing works both ways right? Esheheheheheh~"

[Sup, Shindou, Kirino's still recovering from his own encounter of the dangerous kind... and honestly, he really doesn't look amused.]

Unfortunately, it's a thing they do sometimes. I got harassed by a bunch of Shuppets a couple months ago... Some Pokémon are just mean like that.

... Also ghosts. Of course.
I'm not really surprised; a lot of spirits are malevolent, aren't they?

Not all of them. Hayami's Misdreavus wasn't malevolent, she was just lonely.

Spirits in flocks, then.

I have a new Pokemon out of this, at the very least. He seems reliable.

[Golett's getting a fond little headpat, too!]

He's pretty cute, too. You should see what the 'dex says about him.

[... Kirino, your perception of "cute"...]

But he nods at that, pulling his dex out -]

And not a 'he' either, I suppose.

I think Otogi-san uses "she" for his Golurk... which is what your little friend there is supposed to become. [He shrugs.]

He's a brave little guy, too.

"Golurk", huh...

[... But what is he going to name it? He'll have to think about this for a bit.]

... Kirino - how far away are you right now?

That depends. How far from the city are you? I'm just at the Pokémon Center.

I'm... not sure, to be honest. We did take quite a beating - but the ghosts left, at least.

I think the only reason I'm reasonably alright is because of this fellow here.

[Motioning to the Golett of course, who gives a tired looking wave.
What a brave little guy...]

[Lulu the Lucario returns the wave to Golett.]

You should try to get to a Pokémon Center as soon as you can...

You ought to be more careful. This place usually looks cute, but it gets dangerous sometimes.

If you're not ready to fight yet, you should stick with Hayami or Kirino or me, Captain.

[Yes, he says that with a slight smirk and a half-teasing tone, because getting to tell the team's leader something like that is an opportunity he never expected to have. But he's being partly serious, all the same.

Even as he snickers a little. 'Stick with Hayami, Shindou, he'll protect you!' Hilarious.]

It probably differs for different species. The ones you met, just then, looked like flocking in on people was very natural for them.

[Seimei smiles in a friendly-looking way. Never mind that there's no hint of concern for the scuffed-up boy or his Golett in it. He's making nice.]

I didn't really think to try; I was too busy making sure my Whismuer and this Pokemon were safe.

Oh. That's too bad.

Though, it does look like you all survived. Maybe this will help teach you how to defend yourself, the next time you're confronted by a group. I've heard that fighting multiple-battles is a skill trainers have to learn here.

[Actually he just remembers it from playing the games. But he's not sure if that would make sense to anyone from another world. Or especially care.]
