[The feed opens up to Rua stroking the head of a recently-caught Charmander. A Beldum in a similar condition is also floating nearby.]

Hey, is there anyone out there that's good at coming up with nicknames?! I just caught these two and I dunno what I should call 'em... [He seems to realize the Charmander shouldn't be getting all of his attention, and then reaches up to give the Beldum a few pats.]

[He pauses, before giving the Beldum a couple more pats. The Charmander, on the other hand, doesn't seem to appreciate the steel-type getting more attention than her and nips at Rua's hand.] H-hey!! [After a moment or two, he relents and starts stroking the Charmander's head again.]

I'm not calling him by his species name, though... it sounds kinda mean.

[Hold on, though, that Charmander's stolen his attention away, too. He's already used to having a team that always wants their trainer's focus...]

What about that one? Do you have any ideas for a name that might fit her?

But...since Charmander looks like a dinosaur, kind of, maybe...

[Kariya hesitates, glancing away from his screen. No way, he's too used to what happens after he suggests these things.]

[He yelps, then heaves a little sigh. Too late, huh? Shouldn't have even opened his mouth.]

Just...since she does look like a dinosaur, and since you need a name that will sound impressive in battle, maybe it could be something like...

[Dramatic pause for emphasis!]

... The Charmander on the other hand, bites again, a bit harder than before.] OW!

She's really the prickly type, isn't she? Maybe 'Diva' wouldn't be bad for her...or 'Brat.'

"Spitfire" crossed my mind too, but that's just predictable.

[Kariya's making a face here. It's not so much because of Charmander as it is him realizing that "Spitfire" is a way better name.

I thought Dinoroar was a perfectly fine name. [RUA NO.] But if she doesn't like it...

There's no point in naming her that, if she's just going to bite you for it. [Sort of...side-eying you now, Rua...]

So, a fire-type name would probably be better, but not something obvious...

[The first name Kariya thinks when he thinks fire, honestly, is "Gouenji." But he can't suggest that, unless he wants a lot of weird questions and snickering from all of his teammates the first time it gets mentioned on the network.

After that comes "Burn"...but no way is that little char-brat getting Nagumo's name. On the other hand, though...]

Remember that Mawile I caught? I ended up naming him "Reize"...after one of the leaders of an alien invasion force that came to Earth, in my world. He was super-powerful and intimidating, so I borrowed his name.

[This is all maybe, like...17% true, but Kariya smiles and speaks as if he's telling a very serious and totally legit story.]

Another one of the teams of aliens used fire as its main weapons. If I'd caught a fire-type, I'd probably name it after one of them.

There were a lot of them, really, but...one of the girls - [Wait, no, that sounds too casual] One of the females' on the fire-based team was called 'Rean.'

That might work for Charmander, since yours is a girl, too.

Wow, and I thought the world Ruka and I are from had weird stuff... [Which he will gladly tell about if you ask, Kariya.]

Hmm, "Rean" huh... [He glances down to the Charmander.] How about it, then? [Finally the fire-type gives a nod of approval. Whew.]

Maybe the aliens just haven't landed, where you're from...

[This is said so seriously at first, before he turns to look at Charmander again, and...

I think aliens are the last thing my world needs. We're just recovering from Earthbound Gods and Dark Signers...

[Come on, that's totally begging for an explanation, especially since Rua was so dead-serious about it. There's a pause before he speaks up again.] I think I have a name for Beldum now, too... I'm gonna call 'im Magnen since he doesn't seem to mind it.
