[If you manage to get a fair distance past the performers who are the highlight of Route Five, you may notice a young girl lying there beside some bushes with an egg in her arms.

Between you and me, though, that egg wasn't there when she first got there.

From a distance she might look like a dead body or something equally as morbid but no, Jade just happened to fall asleep looking for Pokémon. What can I say, narcolepsy is a pain.

Regardless of eggs and narcolepsy and all of these other inconveniences, the fact if the matter is that there is a thirteen-year-old girl sleeping/possibly being a dead body depending on how good you are at jumping to conclusions in the middle of somewhere that is probably somewhat dangerous, quite inconvenient and all in all can't be very comfortable.

Somebody should probably do something.]

[Well, sadly, Iris is off trolling Demyx at this point of time.

But her Woobat flew off when she was struck - and it's ended up here! Wow. Anyhow, Woobat flies up to Jade - and suddenly stamps her with her heartnose, with a smile.]

[Getting stamped in the face by a fluffbat is pretty much the best wake-up call. Jade springs right up and nearly slams her head into Woobat but instead just knocks the egg over.

Wait a minute, egg?!

She scrambles to pick it up again and inspects it carefully for cracks but nope, it's uninjured. Phew.] Hi, Woobat! What's Iris up to? [She's figured that she should get used to her new travel partner running around just for the sake of doing so. Then, as if the Pokémon will have an answer, she holds up the egg.] Where did this come from?

[Yay - she was awake. Woobat gave a few happy squeaks, before looking to the egg. What... what was that. With a few odd squeaks, Woobat then approached the egg.

To stamp it, of course.]

Hey, be careful! [Jade tries to be scolding but Woobat is entirely to fluffy and adorable to stay mad at. And besides, she's not totally sure what this whole stamping thing it likes to do so much means—but then, she's not totally sure what to do with an egg, either.] So you aren't sure where it came from, either, huh?

[The bat shook a little - before looking around. It'd never seen an egg before! Maybe there were more~! So... so exciting! Fwee! It then let out a few squeaks of excitment - what would it become?!]

[Admittedly, Jade's pretty excited about this, too. Oh boy, eggs! She's preeeetty sure animals come out of eggs—or, Pokémon here, that would make more sense—but still, eggs just sort of appearing while you're sleeping?] You don't think it belongs to anyone, do you? [Jade, having a conversation with a Woobat is getting you nowhere.] Hehehe, but why would they leave it here?

Wait, it's glowing. It's evolving, Jade. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO???]

I sure hope it is because that's exactly what Jade is going to do. She is going to flip out and almost drop the egg but catch it because it's like a baby but in a shell, and you aren't supposed to drop babies.] D-did I do something wrong?!

[Apparently not, though. The glowing fades and there, pushing its way out of what's left of the eggshell, is a tiny Poliwag.

Jade sits there and stares at it for a moment, and then slowly, her expression splits into a grin.] Oh my gosh, it's...it's so cute! [She's practically whispering, her voice full of awed wonder. It's a baby. The Poliwag, meanwhile, just sort of yawns and then looks around at its surroundings, eyes wide.]

Hehehe, look, Woobat! It's just like a tadpole! Isn't it cute? ...But is it a boy or a girl? [How do you even tell a tadpole's sex, anyway? It's even harder when it's a weird this-crazy-world-style tadpole.]

Anyhow, Woobat soon stops glowing, too - except it looks different now. Bigger. Longer. Stronger. Cooler. It looks over the baby, and then to Jade, before letting out an excited call.]
