[ Hazel is not on screen. Just a Pokémon egg in a nest made of a blanket. ]

So... I found this egg by my Buizel today.

I sort of didn't intend to start actually breeding Pokémon just yet but, that doesn't bother me.

[ There is a pause as she watches the Buizel decide to curl up with the egg. The very first egg from her Pokémon. She feels like she stumbled into a big event somehow. People share big events usually, right? ]

I'm thinking of trying to find a good home for it instead of keeping it but, it's not going to anyone Shera doesn't like.

[ Shera being the Buizel. Awkward end to a video but, she doesn't have anything else to say. ]

[Dustin's camera feed showed Dustin and his newly evolved Roselia Marah looking at Hazel's egg.]

Hey, congratulations!

Thanks. It was a surprise but, a nice one.

[ Still just showing the egg and Pokémon. Hazel's being shy about showing her face for some reason. ]

You're welcome.

That's a Buizel, right? I remember seeing one while training here.

Yeah. That's its mom so, it's probably what's in the egg. Um... I'm not sure yet whether there's a chance it'll be the same Pokémon as the dad though.

[ She was kinda distracted when she got to that part of her reading. ]

You're trying to breed Pokemon, then?

What kind of Pokemon is the dad then?

Yup. It seemed better for me than the gym battles. [ She tends to panic if there's an intense battle. Her Pokémon actually battle pretty well without direction though. ] I keep missing the contests though.

It's probably the Furret. They're very cuddly when they're both out of their Poké balls. [ She just kind of let all her Pokémon out to get some fresh air and then got really distracted and when she looked after a couple hours there was the egg with Buizel curled around it. ]

I guess everyone here has to do what's best for them. I'm sure you'll do great in the contests once you get there.

How many Pokemon do you have? I have three: Marah my Roselia, Streak my Taillow, and Kapri my Purrloin.

I guess we'll see. I'm going to make sure I'm here for the next one. [ By staying near Nimbasa as if her life depended on it. ]

Seven. Shera is my Buizel. My Furret's name is Cid, Cloud is an Espeon, Yuffie the Altaria, Freya my Cottonee, Eiko is a Ponyta and Vivi is a Phione.

[ Yes they are all named after Final Fantasy characters. She likes those games so, why not? ]

Wow. That's great. [Kariya guesses.

He is looking ever-so-slightly awed by the mommy pokémon with its egg. One of his friends is planning to be a breeder, but he hadn't actually seen or heard anything about how that worked...]

Why don't you just want to keep it, though? Do Pokémon or...Buizels? Not stay with their mothers for long...?

[ Showing her face because unfamiliar voice. She has her hood covering her head for some reason though. ]

Well, in the wild they stay with their moms for a while but, many Pokémon are able to take care of themselves pretty soon after they hatch.

[ Talking a lot more than usual but, it's just explaining things so, she doesn't feel too awkward about it. ]

It's tempting to keep them all but, I'd either end up with more than I can take care of or I'd have to keep the parents apart. They're really attached to each other so I don't want to do that.

[ Sitting next to the egg and giving her Buizel head scratches. ]

And some trainers like to raise them from eggs to have a stronger bond with them. They mostly get them from breeders when they do that because they usually don't want more of the same Pokémon they already have.

Oh. That makes sense. It would be a little weird to have a horde of just one kind of Pokémon or something.

[Or a little awesome, depending on the type. But a horde full of Buizels just sounds silly.]

I hope you find a good trainer for it, then. If you don't decide to hatch it yourself.

I think I am going to find another home for it.

[ There aren't many Pokémon besides Eevee that she could see a good reason to have a bunch of. ]

Just going to be really careful about it.

[ Because really don't want it to end up with someone horrible. ]

Are you not traveling with anyone, right now?

[Kariya blinks curiously. He sort of got shoved in with a big gaggle of folks when he showed up, so he's not sure how being dropped into Pokéworld usually works...]

That'd be an easy way to find someone. And the baby would still be close for a while...

No. I'm just by myself for now.

[ She was being shy and didn't want to be a bother. And now she's used to traveling with just her Pokémon. ]

I will ask people I know first though.

Oh. That's close enough, probably. Good luck with it.

[And with that settled, he realizes that, whoops, he's been a little impolite here.]

Ah, I'm Kariya Masaki, by the way. It's nice to meet you.

[ She always forgets about introductions at first. ]

Oh. I'm Hazel. Nice to meet you too.

[ And her Buizel decides she's not getting enough attention and squirts a little water at Hazel. ]

...Shera says 'hi' I guess.

Heh, hi.

[The Buizel gets a brief wave and a hint of laughter out of Kariya. He's not sure whether to be relieved or jealous that he doesn't have a water-type who can shoot fountains at him, yet...]

I have a teammate who's planning on being a breeder, too, while he's here. It's good to know that it's not too hard to get started on it, like this.

[ Shera settles down, satisfied that she's not being ignored now that Hazel is giving her head scratches while talking. ]

Well, you just need compatible Pokémon to get eggs. I've had a bit practice hatching when everyone got Phione eggs a while ago.

Getting the hang of making Poffins or Poké blocks that will give them good condition and the contests are harder I guess.

[ She sticks to the Poffins herself. ]

Your friend can get information and sign up in any Pokémon center if he hasn't already.

[Ooh. Have a random interested child getting up close to the camera for a good look.]

Congratulations! [...it's only polite to say that, right? Uh... maybe not in this situation. A-anyway-] Do they all come from eggs? [His memory of Pokemon trivia is not the best, alas.]

[ Another unfamiliar voice. She's insisting on keeping her head covered by her hood right now. ]

Thanks. And weirdly enough they do seems to all come from eggs.

[ It is odd because some of them don't really seem like they should. ]

That's cool! [It's like they're all distant cousins or something... He doesn't seem too bothered by the lady's attempts to hide her face.] Is its mom a... normal type?

[Never seen that kind of 'mon before. Regardless, it certainly doesn't look like the sort to lay eggs.]

[ She pulls the hood back enough that you can see her eyes. Her hair is still covered though. ]

Shera's a water type.

[ The Buizel decides to squirt a little water at Hazel as if to confirm this. ]

Ohh. Hi, Shera. [That explains the name mentioned in the opening. Hazel messing with her hood gets Tenma's attention.] Aren't you a bit hot in tha- ah.

[...w-well, maybe the water will make it not quite so hot.]

I'm fine. I wear this all the time. [ She is fine. It's not quite hot enough that she really needs to take the hoodie off. Not going to now because she doesn't want anyone to see what's on her head. ]
