[ Sephiroth has stepped away from his campsite for some reason. He's left behind his X-transceiver which is chewed on briefly by an unseen Pokémon then tossed aside. Its landing spot gives it a good view of Sephiroth's bag. A wild Vulpix is pulling random stuff out of said bag.
Of all the things for the Pokémon to actually stop and investigate more carefully it is the copy of LOVELESS that Sephiroth received some time ago.
And Sephiroth returns to see it trying to open the book to the beginning. ]
...What could you possibly want with that?
[ The Pokémon is startled into turning and shooting an Ember attack at him. Which misses since it didn't really take the time to aim properly. He walks over to pick up the book, causing the Vulpix to flee a short distance but, it stays in sight. Just watching... Mostly eying the book. ]
Can you even read?
[ Was it giving him puppy eyes? ...Yes, it was indeed giving him puppy eyes. Sigh. He was becoming even more convinced that the universe was making fun of him. The book remains closed in his hand. He wasn't kidding about it being beaten into his head. ]
'When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting'
[ By the time he finished the short verse the Vulpix was sitting at his feet with its attention fixed on him and its tails were practically wagging.
And of course now he has to notice that the feed is on. ]
...The universe is making fun of me. [ He mutters quietly before he stops the thing from recording any more. ]

This piece was a favorite of a lost friend.
[ Genesis isn't dead but, Sephiroth isn't ever going to see him again unless he shows up in Unova. ]

[ Not really his thing though. He only knows it because Genesis felt the need to recite bits of it all the time. It's off camera but, the Vulpix is still staring at him. those understanding of Pokémon speak are treated to it quietly saying 'More?' though Sephiroth only hears a begging sort of noise... Which he tries to ignore. ]
It was popular enough to be made into a play.
