5th Shooting Star - Finally out, thanks to the help of a migratory...bat? [Action for Castelia City]

[It's been a trying time, what with Subaru not really remembering what happened and waking up in a forest with his two Pokemon fussing over him. And the forest he was in, Pinwheel, well, it really did have some very confusing depths.

It wasn't until a wild Zubat ended up crashing into him that he ended up having the means to find his way out. Its echolocation abilities really helped with navigating the twists and turns of the forest. The Zubat was grateful for the company as well-it had been separated from its own group and was rather disoriented without them, and ended up growing fond enough of Subaru's group to stay with them even when they finally exited the forest.

Due to his experiences in the forest, and wanting to prepare for a search of the Desert Resort, Subaru hasn't actually left Castelia City yet despite being there for a few days. He's just about to, though. Although, considering he has no badges, perhaps somebody would want to point out to him that simple Potions and Repels probably won't be enough for such an expedition, even if it's all he has on him at the moment. He is still rather lost, after all, despite being in the city for a few days now. It's a surprisingly big place, and pretty hard to navigate, even with the XTransiever's map and Zutz's (the Zubat) echolocation!]

Um...where is the way out to the Resort Desert...?

There is indeed a way to the desert, and guess who happens to be looking for it as well?

A band of pokemon are suddenly swarming you, you familiar person you, and Astral follows. Whether or not any of you can see him is another story but...

"Zoorrrr!! Orrrrr!!!" The pokemon are there at least.

[At first he thinks they're all wild, but the fact that they're all together, and not attacking, that's...]

E...eh? [Wait, this team looks familiar...give him a minute.] ...Yuuma-kun's...Pokemon?

Zorua keeps barking, but the litwick might give it away...

Astral's speaking at anyrate. Ah- Subaru. It must have been longer than I thought if you're already here... What, you saying they were behind or something??

Ah- [Never mind how he can hear Astral. How can he hear War-Rock anyways when the Visualizer apparently only lets it see him? Sensitive ears, who knows. Either way, he's flipping on his Visualizer to look around.]

Astral...ah, hi! [Finally spotted you.] Where's Yuuma-kun...?

[[He's gonna be solid after the mini-plot anyway, or at the very least visible. Though the plot itself is being held off for Kururu. :3 ]]

Oooh. That's a grim expression.

Yuuma is... Hnnn... Unable to wake up. Following a few weeks where he was apparently replaced by an alternate of himself, he lapsed into a coma of sorts... ...I have a feeling I know why, but I cannot wake him up like this it would seem.

Coma?! Th-that's serious! Where is he now?

[And then the rest of the statement catches up with him.] Alternate? You mean...he also had those strange past weeks? I can't remember what happened to me at all...

Currently, the hospital has taken him in here- we're quite fortunate that we were in Castellia, or I am not entirely certain that would be possible. But yes- evidently during those weeks, most of those transferred via the entralink had a similar experience, being replaced by alternates of themselves.

In Yuuma's case, it was the version of himself from ten years in the future here.

Hm...if we really were all replaced by alternates, then...was it something he did as this alternate version that landed him in a coma?

It'd make some sense, maybe, if you don't know another reason...

On the contrary- his older self gave me a lead on how I could help... Actually, I have a feeling I know why he entered the coma, but as the situation is not at all the same as I recall it, it's impossible for me to wake him. Or anyone else, it seems.

On the contrary- at the moment the coma has partially severed the connection we hold with the key. As such, he cannot hear my voice... However, what the Alternate was doing in his own time was searching for a way to make his own version of myself a solid being. They had been trapped in Unova for some time- as such, the Alternate Yuuma felt obligated to do so. He was following a lead to the desert when he appeared here in Yuuma's place- that was when he gave me the lead as well, with hopes of saving us time.

If I were to become solid, I would not only be able to speak clearly to him, but also touch him. That in itself could potentially break through to wake him up.

Heh...so if you could be solid, you could wake him up...

[Wait a second...]

You're going to the desert as well!?

Indeed. More specifically, the desert resort. It is a little awkward, as some of the pokemon are hesitant to listen to what I relay through Kuribolt...

"Erf!"

However, that is our intent. Supposedly the ruins hold something or some being that is capable of what is required.

Astral you might want to bring a poncho or something for after, that sand storm is vicious...

Ruins...that's what War-Rock and I were planning to investigate as well. Since it's ancient, there could be some forgotten lore or power source there that's similar enough to Denpa...

We should all team up, then! Can't get any worse than being alone, right?

Nod, nod- Indeed! More importantly, the pokemon might feel more inclined to take an order from a familiar trainer, as opposed to through Kuribolt.

Kuribolt seems to shuffle slightly at that before barking in agreement as the other pokemon stretch. Well, that's settled then!

Ah... I do have a concern though, he adds. As it will be my first experience in the physical realm, is there anything I should know concerning the effects of various elements..? I have been told that the Desert Resort is under a constant sandstorm.... UHHHHHHHH...

Well, Subaru might want to prepare for that...

Ah...un, there is. Sand can really hurt if it gets in your eyes and on your skin, so you want to cover up...I have my Visualizer that can serve as goggles and I bought a cloak earlier...you'll need those, at the very least.

Mnnnn... He goes into thought at that. And at the moment, I can hardly access Yuuma's money to purchase such things... Oops.

He looks to Subaru. If it isn't too much... Could Yuuma and I perhaps repay you afterward? I'm certain he won't mind.

[There's a sort of "I had a feeling something like this would happen" expression on his face, but it's certainly not angry. More like resigned.]

It's fine. It's a good thing I've been trying to keep from spending my money too much...

Ahh... Again, I apologize. If it helps, Yuuma has spent very little thus far, apparently preferring to camp overall... We will definitely be able to repay you. Is that an awkward turtle swimming around the conversation now...?

As long as it helps you and Yuuma-kun's Pokemon to get by until he wakes up, it's money well spent, isn't it?

Ah- If you like, I could help. Yuuma and I were here for some time. He had gained his third badge before his Alternate appeared in fact- as such, I have taken to memory the streets of the city. YOU WOULD, WOULDN'T YOU ASTRAL.

Easily..! Specifically, what sort of store would stock these supplies? Shhhh, he hasn't been allowed in with all the pokemon okay-

Ah, well the place I got the cloak, it had supplies for exploring...I think it was on...Mode Street? That is the street with all the stores on it, right?

Yes- it is where the closed ice-cream shop is. I recall Yuuma complaining that he had not come soon enough to catch them open. Damn those Unova seasons!
