[Hello, Unova! Jade is on the video feed today, sitting beside some trees trying to find a good focus. Eventually she hands it off to someone and a Poliwhirl's gloved hand blocks the screen for a moment.] Bilious, noooo, nobody can see, hold it like—like this! There you go. Thank you! [And then everything is as it should be. Jade is grinning at the feed, her Growlithe is sitting beside her, and she has her backpack in her lap. She rummages through it for just a moment before pulling out a shining red stone.]

Look what we fouuuund! Hehe, it's a fire stone. Iris found it when we were traveling! I've been trying to get one of these since I got here! [She looks absolutely thrilled about this. Her grin is even bigger than it usually is and she's even bouncing a little in place!] I wanted everybody to be able to see. This is a very special moment! Are you ready, Bec?

[The Growlithe gives a little bark of assent and Jade giggles. She's a little bit tentative-seeming, but she brings the fire stone over and very gently taps it to Becquerel's nose.

The dog starts to glow and Jade jumps back a bit, and once he starts to grow, Bilious even stumbles back and the screen becomes a wonderful shot of the ground and his swirled stomach. By the time it's adjusted, Jade is beaming up at her brand new Arcanine. Holy balls, he's like, six feet tall. Meanwhile, if Jade's smile got any wider, it would fall off of her face.]

Tah-daaaaaah! Hehehe, oh my gosh, you look fantastic, Bec! Hehe, you're next, Bilious. [She takes the video feed back from him and pats his head, and then turns the focus back on her Arcanine, who is slightly bewildered by this transformation but very excited.] Look at him, guys! Hehehe, good dog! Best friend!

So... where do you find the Pokémon it evolves from?

[ Because who wouldn't want a Giant Fluffy Puppy? ]

I don't actually know... Becquerel was my very first Pokémon! The one I got when I arrived at the Entralink. They are called Growlithe, though!

Oh... Must be happy.

[ Her Eevee gets in her lap to look at the feed. ]

I'm really happy with Cloud too.

Hehe, definitely! Aren't you, boy? [At that, Becquerel barks and goes over to lick Jade's face, except his tongue is really huge now so it's more like she's getting devoured by an oversized puppy.] Hehe, okay, enough, Bec! Good dog!

[After pulling herself away from one very affectionate six-foot-tall pooch, she goes back to the feed and grins at the sight of the Eevee.] Oh, what a cutie! Have you thought about what you want to evolve it into yet?

[ She can't help but giggle. They're kind of adorable together. ]

I haven't really thought about it. We'll just go with the flow I guess.

That's a good idea, too! I guess all of the options could be overwhelming. I bet your Eevee will be cute no matter what it evolves into, though!

So I've heard. I'd still love him even if he wasn't cute though.

Hehehe, I bet he would be adorable in his own way no matter what! You, too, silly. [Bec is getting jealous and licking Jade's head again, but she pats his head and snuggles into his fur. There is enough there that she could get lost in it.]

Always. [ She's snuggling her own Pokémon now and he's loving the attention. ]

[[I keep waiting to set up the plot thing with this guy but the other half is still offline ahhh... THIS WORKS FOR A POST. 8U]]

Incredible... So this is what stones do to certain pokemon? [That's what Astral said.

What Jade probably sees and hears however is an entire group of pokemon at the entrance of the desert route, staring at the screen and leaving an odd gap between them at Kuribolt's request. Oops.]

Yes! I have been doing some research and I have three other Pokémon that all need special stones to evolve, too.

Um.

[She peers closer to the screen, trying to figure out just what's going on here with all of these Pokémon here. Jade isn't completely sure what to say here but she is going to continue leaning into the screen and looking totally baffled.]

[Oh... Shoot! He forgot about that. The zorua seems to look up a moment before shifting... Into a blue thing?

Smiling, the shifted zorua types.]

'Sorry- my form is not actually visible to most. The fact that you heard me is actually surprising as well.'

[STARE

STAAAAAAAARE

And then she finally un-presses her face from against the screen and looks significantly less incredulous.]

...Oh! Okay, wow, more of this Zorua business. There was another one who was transforming that I met and—this is silly!

'It can't be helped. I do not have a solid or visible form- Yuuma's zorua happens to be able to see it however, and apparently feels it's best you know what I look like. If you prefer, I could ask her to stop?'

[...Astral... ...Where is Yuuma...?]

No, that's fine! I just am not totally used to the whole idea. It's a little jarring, that's all!

...So wait, do you have a trainer? Where are they?

'Ah- I myself am not a pokemon...' [However, at a look from the Zorua (which appears to be aimed at mid air...]

'Oh! The pokemon. Of course. Yuuma is their trainer. However...' [Erk.]

'He is currently unable to awaken. It's quite jarring... But in this state, there is little I can do. Supposedly, something in the ruins in the desert may be of assistance in that matter, but for the time being he has been entirely unresponsive... For that reason, he's currently in the care of a friend in Castelia.'

[It's Iris, and she's looking over the giant firebeast! Oh my gosh it's so cute! But dragons are still cuter.]
I'm sure he'll be stronger now, too!

Definitely! Hehehe, go pet him, Iris!

[At the sound of the word 'pet', Becquerel's ears twitch. ATTENTION? OH BOY]

[Oh, please. You can't just pet something like this.

You need to tacklehug it. Watch out Bec, you've got a gym leader practically flying towards you!]

[IRIS YOU'RE GONNA GET LOST IN ALL OF THIS FUR

Bec, pleased about the attention, barks happily and begins to lick Iris' face. Except he's huge and so is his tongue, so it's almost more like he's eating her alive. Lovingly, though!]

[ohgoshohgosh...
Actually, Iris doesn't mind the eating-like licks. But as she's hugging, she starts to talk to Jade!]
I can't believe there's so many birds around~!

[Don't mind Jade as she giggles hysterically at Iris being bathed in dog slobber.]

Oh? Hehe, yeah, I guess there have been a lot of birds lately!

I think I've caught them all [Pokemon!], though!

Hehehe! You really like birds, don't you?

Well, I was the flying-type Gym Leader! I've gotta love birds!

Plus, it's fun to fly. Maybe I'll have to take you for one someday!

Hehehe, I would love that! [Never mind the fact that she could fly on Prospit and can do a good amount of hovering as a godtier, but she's never flown on anything. What an exciting idea!] It sounds like an adventure!

But first, we've got to go to the Contest Hall, right? [To try and get more information. And then find out about caravans........ oh lordy i feel sorry for the staff]

Oh, of course! [Those poor, poor staff. Suddenly a thought occurs to her.] We could fly there!

[Have a Shizuo with a WTF JUST HAPPENED face. No, seriously. Wtf just happened?]

Oh! Shizuo, right? [Jade could not be any more oblivious to any distress this is causing.] Hehe, you have a Growlithe too, don't you?

Y-Yeah... [He still seems bewildered.]

What happened to yours? [It had just spontaneously quadrupled in size or something.]

He evolved! [She doesn't seem to understand why this is such a confusing concept! What, you mean dogs quadrupling in size suddenly ISN'T normal???

A beat, and then a thought occurs to her.] Have you ever seen a Pokémon evolve before?

[Evolve? The word seems to ring some bells, but Shizuo continues to look perplexed.]

In my world, evolution is supposed to happen slowly.

[He was getting more used to Unova's oddities by now, but seeing a puppy suddenly morph into a dog taller than some people is a bit startling. He glances down, evidently inspecting his own Growlithe. A cheerful 'Growl!' can be heard.]

Do you mean Darwin's theory? [Oh boy, science!] A different kind of evolution happens here! I wonder if that sort of evolution happens, too, though... [For a moment Jade looks very thoughtful as the gears in her brain start going, but the other Growlithe's bark snaps her out of science mode.]

Heehee, you can have him evolve one day, too!

Yeah... [Shizuo isn't the brainiest person around, but he still knows what evolution is supposed to be like.]

Does it... hurt? [Growing that quickly had to have some side effects, right? Shizuo seems dubious about the idea of randomly evolving his own Growlithe. Moyasu is fine the way he is, thank you very much.]

Hmm... I don't know! Did it hurt, Bec? [She looks up at the Arcanine, who looks more confused than anything at the question. And then he licks her face.] Hehehe! I guess not!

[N regards the scene with a grin.]
Congratulations to the both of you. [Once he noticed what Jade's video was going to address, he brought out his own Growlithe, who is now draped over N's lap and staring at the scene with his ears propped up.]

Hehe, thank you! [She grins at the sight of N's Growlithe and delightedly claps her hands together.] Aww, it's so cute! It looks like a lot of people have their own Growlithe around here.

[Growlithe opens his mouth in a canine equivalent of a grin, if not for the tongue hanging out one side. She said he was cute!!]
Is that so? [Growlithe flips gracelessly over onto his back, kicking N in the face with one of his hind legs. N winces a little, but chuckles.] Perhaps that is because of their affinity for humans? This one-- [So he says, giving Growlithe's belly a brief pat.] -- seemed anxious without a human companion.

However, I would assume many less people have Arcanines. I have heard the evolution stones are rather rare.

So far I've met two others with Growlithe! I don't think there has been anyone else with an Arcanine, though. [She giggles at the Growlithe's little shenanigans and Bec, jealous, starts licking her face with his suddenly giant tongue. Jade is buried in dog fluff and being almost eaten alive as she continues.] They probably are! I think that I've been here for almost half a year, and it took me that long to find this one!
