[ Hazel is looking a bit sheepish. ]

So I kinda impulsively signed up for Pokémon breeding before I left Striaton early this morning.

[ Her Eevee shoves his way into her lap. ]

Cloud seems to think it's a good idea for me to try it.

[ Yes, she is taking advice from a Pokémon when she can't even understand what it says. Yes or no questions were used. ]

Gotta find something better than a few pamphlets though.

[ She hesitates. ]

And I'm... pretty sure I'm not the only one but, does anyone else not remember the last couple weeks?

[Here, have Iris. She's got a pilot helmet on - oh, and she's walking out of the Mistralton Gym, with a huge smile on her face. Put it together yourself.]
Yeeeah... I don't remember the last weeks, but I woke up with... with... [gulp] a drilbur in my party.
So something pretty wild must have happened!

Weird. I think my Pokémon are stronger than they were but, I didn't catch any new ones.

I already had Drilbur, though. I hate them! But it was my first encounter of Mistralton Cave, so I had to keep it.

What's wrong with Drilbur?

[ A pause. ]

Have to keep it? Is that some personal rule?

[ Because if it was a general rule someone would have mentioned it before now. ]

[Iris shook her head.]
It's a rule from my world. You've gotta capture the first Pokemon you see, no matter what! Unless you find a Shiny.

And I once had a bad run-in with Drilbur. [Which started her whole story...]

Oh... Shiny?

[ She's not gonna ask anymore about the Drilbur thing. She almost feels bad about asking in the first place. ]

Rarely, Pokemon can appear as different colours. Like, a Red Gyrados or a white Eevee, or even a Golden Ho-Oh! It's really rare, though... and you might not find the Pokemon you want shiny.
[But the mun got a shiny Darumaka yesterday. :3]

Okay. It's not as weird as I was picturing from the term shiny. [ Her mental image involved a sparkly Eevee. ]

They also sparkle when they appear! [Iris, you're not helping.]

...Just when they appear? [ She's not sure if that's weirder than if they sparkled constantly. ]

When they enter battle, obviously! Or just leave their Pokeball.

[Iris has a shiny, totally. Because of a silly joke.]

...So they like to make a flashy entrance?
[Of course she wants to see.]

Well then! Let me just--
[The video cuts out, for a few moments. Iris is setting it up to be held by her camera-Pikachu. And then we're back.]
--Come on out, Burgh!
[Yes, she named her Burgh. But then, with a flurry of sparkles, out came a dark-red Vespiquen. And then it did a twirl, as the sparkles vanished.]

There she is!

Ooh, that's neat. [ Yeah, she doesn't have anything more intelligent to say. ]

[Subaru nods when he hears the last bit. He'd ask about Pokemon breeding first, but that last question caught his attention first.]

Mm, it's the same for me. I remember being in Nacrene, but...I woke up in a forest clearing. Rocky and Leo looked kind of worried about me, but I don't remember a thing...

It's kinda scary. Not knowing what I've been doing.

Whatever happened doesn't seem to have bothered Cloud at all.

That's good.

[And a sigh.] I wish I could understand what Rocky and Leo were saying...I hope I didn't do anything bad.

Yeah. I'd hate to upset him.

[ A thoughtful head-tilt. ] Do you think any of us made videos while this stuff was going on? [ she's almost been scared to look for some strange reason. ]

It's possible...the XTransiever does save them, right? I haven't tried that function...

[He's never had reason to revisit old calls. But if it does, then...]

I think I saw something in the manual...

[ And she digs out the manual and starts reading it so, her attention is kind of divided now. ]

[Subaru's a polite boy. He'll let her read and if she finds something, she can tell him. Instead, he seems to be conversing with somebody off-screen, if the worried whispers to somebody called "War-Rock," are any indication.]

Ok, it looks like it saves everything... There should be an option in the menu to look at old stuff...

[ And she gives it a try. ]

Oh...

[ And she blushes. Guess who didn't need to know she accidentally recorded herself sleeping for several hours. ]

Is that so? That's good...

[And he looks around.] I think I'd better figure out how to get out of these woods, first... [Yes, he's still stuck in the Pinwheel Forest Depths. Oops.] I don't know how long I've been here, and I don't think I have that many supplies left...

Yeah... good.

[ She'll just wait until later to try and see what she'd been up to. ]

You're lost? Sorry I can't really help...

That's fine. I think we can manage...Good luck to you too, okay?

[ Yeah, she's a worrier. ]

Um... I don't think I got your name. I'm Hazel.

Ah-! Sorry... [And he chuckles. Always forgetting to introduce himself.] I'm Subaru. It's good to meet you.

Good to meet you too. [ Even if it is just a video thing. ] Be safe, okay? [ Kids should not be alone in the woods. Worryworryworry. ]

[But he's not alone! He's got Rocky and Leo and War-Rock too! He should be fine...he hopes.]

I will! You too, okay?

[ Well, she wasn't really thinking of the pokemon and they are probably just as lost as he is. ]

Okay. Tell me when you find your way out? [ Worryworry. ]

[Subaru nods. He can understand her worry. He's made his mom worry enough times to recognize it.]

Okay, Hazel...I will.

Thanks. [ She's just gonna go try to figure out what she's been doing now. ]

Guess I missed you then, because I'm still in Striaton getting my Pokemon stronger.

Why? Did somthing happen?

I don't really like cities so I didn't stay very long after I figured out where I was.

[ A little bit of hesitation. ]

Not sure if anything happened. I don't remember traveling here from Route one. Cloud's not worried so, it must not have been anything bad.

Oh! Good, I'm not the only one who signed up for Pokémon breeding! [This is really the only part of this whole feed that Jade is interested in here.] I'm so excited to get started! Have you gotten to do anything besides sign up yet?

Not really. I'm gonna need a few more pokemon to really do anything... Or some berries to make these recipes.

Do you have any berries yet? You know you can grow them on your own!

Some. [ She doesn't remember picking them up though. Her AU self was much better at foraging than she is. ] I'll have to give it a try then.

Hehe, you have to plant the berries themselves in rich soil. Water them twice daily on a regular schedule! That's what has been working for me, anyway. We could share berries and tips! [Suddenly she seems very exited.] Breeder buddies!

[ She's a bit surpised by the sudden excite. ]

...I guess I'll have to get some pots since I'm traveling.

Oh, yeah, you'll definitely need those! Finding a local shop that has them shouldn't be too hard, though!

I'll try to get some before I go through Pinwheel Forest then. [ She's probably saved enough money since she hasn't been buying potions or using too many Poké balls. ]

Tell me what you get! Keep an eye out in the forest, too, and maybe you can find some there!
