001- Action in Straton City.

He's sitting in the Striaton City gardens on a bench, flipping through a magazine he bartered for. It was news, information on Pokemon and pokemon training. He didn't know anything other than the fact that he now owned and cared for this little fangy monster he had practically named after himself. Shini.

The gligar lay curled up next to him on the bench, a his new trainer read through the material snoozing with his tongue hanging out. No shame in this one, none what so ever. And that was just fine. Not really much for being a pet though, from Duo's point of view this one was his fixing to be his partner in crime. Get themselves into trouble so far as Shini could figure. He snorted a bemused laugh at the thought of this creature being an enabler.

Ready to leave, he tapped the creature on it's side and stood up. "C'mon Shini." No pokeball. Not yet. Let's just get acclimated to this place for a while.

Sighing as she got out of the Pokemon Center, Homura stretched her arms as she welcomed a new day, unconcerned about how time passed in her own world.

After all she could simply just rewind it. Over there that is.

For once she wasn't in a rush, but the wound N's Serperior had inflicted the other night was still bothering her.

That wasn't the point, the point was to get training. And for her schedule today she had to pass by the gardens to Route 3 for whatever she intended to do.

You're quite chipper today, did something good happen? QB, still an Eevee despite Homura's efforts on building their relationship, telepathically inquired to his trainer. He busily tended to his tail while perching on the puella magi's shoulder.

"Nothing much," Homura remarked back, brushing through her hair out of habit. She walked with confidence and seemed to know where to go.

And she was pretty much passing by Duo, who probably needed a tour guide.

And passing right by, he turns his attention briefly to the chick passing him by. Who was she talking to? Shini passed on right by too, grunting his call all along as he marched behind his owner. The Gligar stuck his tongue out and let it hang, looking up at the Eevee before moving back to catch his owner.

"Oi. You're a trainer, right?" He'd talked to a few people around town, plenty of people just had pokemon as pets, surprise surprise. So him? Jumping into this whole training game just to pass time? Couldn't hurt to talk to someone who knew something about it.

Oh, someone called out to her.

"Yes, that's correct. And, you are?" Homura inquired, tilting her head at Duo.

He looked normal enough. Though not every denizen from another world had to be spectacular.

"Duo Maxwell." He said, crossing his arms after giving a small wave in greeting.

"I'm kinda new here and me and buddy wouldn't mind a crash course in this whole pokemon' thing." Lets see, no idea how to catch them, fight them, feed them...

All he had was his C-gear, and for what it was worth he knew his pokemon's attacks so that was something.

"Akemi Homura," Homura replied curtly, nodding in greeting.

"Hm, I guess I don't mind. What would you like to know?" Homura inquired, leaning against a hedge.

If that attitude wasn't far too familiar. He chuckled to himself.

"To start? Catching these things. I got this little guy a few days ago but I'm kinda lost on the jargon. Leveling up? Evolving? Hehe. I didn't think it worked that way."

"Hm, you've obtained a set of these correct?" Homura began, taking a Pokeball out of the giant buckler on her left arm. "These are known as Pokeballs. To catch wild Pokemon, one must weaken the target greatly before throwing one of these, and it's as simple as that," Homura shrugged, pocketing the device.

"Leveling refers to your Pokemon growing stronger as they experience more battles, it's a standard you can check using the Pokedex," Homura replied, pulling out a black rectangle from the same buckler that seemed to expand in length. "This device is quite useful actually, in all aspects of a trainer's career."

"Evolving refers to a stronger form your Pokemon takes as they 'level up.' There are various methods among all Pokemon it seems," Homura explained, before tilting her head. "Anything else?"

After listening to all that? Crash course? It made some sense. He was slowly getting the idea of status effects, really wondering if anything could truly be be frozen or something similar.

"Nah. That's pretty much what I was wondering about. And I did get all of that." And nobody's put it in such direct phrases before now.

"So thanks. I appreciate that." Now he's leaning over to get a look at that fox looking thing.

"So what's this little guy? He got a name?"

"Hm, I see," Homura nodded, before Duo tried to get a look at QB.

"Kyubey the Eevee, though originally he was an acquaintance of mine from where I came from," Homura replied, nonchalant about her otherworlder status being exposed.

QB just blinked at Duo and shook his head, still unable to communicate to anyone besides Homura for the moment.

"Really?" He absently wondered if by 'originally' that meant he wasn't always like this.

"Hey there, Kyubey." He said with a friendly smile. "Back here is Shini. Anyway thanks for the advice. I'll tell you what. Give me a couple weeks and we can have a battle. I think I'll be well trained enough by then. Unless I'm fooling myself here."

"Really." Wow straight to the point.

QB just blinked in reply to Duo, before tilting his head and then cleaning his tail.

"Perhaps so, you can contact me through the XTransceiver I believe," Homura shrugged, pointing to the wristwatch communicator. "I'll send the number through Infrared if that's alright."

She just kind of stuck out her wrist and went to the Infrared tab I guess that's how this works MAKING THINGS UP.

Beating around the bush was never his style. Besides that he was eager to get the hang of this although he wasn't going to jump in recklessly. He wanted this guy learning something more than 'sand-attack'.

"Sure." Duo pulled up his and tapped the screen. How do you make this work? Ah. Right.

"Receiving."

"Received." Homura confirmed. Good job at making friends.

"For starters I think you should head where I'm not going if you need to train," Homura advised pointing toward Route 2. "If your Pokemon looks weak, then the Pokemon Center should be able to recover them to full vitality," Homura added, flipping her hair and walking toward Route 3.

"Well then, I'll see you in a few weeks time, Mr. Maxwell," Homura remarked, a small smile forming on her lips.

Hey thanks. He just offers a friendly smile and follows her gesture towards Route 2. Hm. He nodded. Pokemon center, got it.

"Thanks again." Duo said, waving her off with not a care to his curt treatment. "I appreciate it!"

Even so, while he was walking away he almost flinched at his last name, though he didn't know why. Even he'd said it. He turned his attention back to her briefly then continued on his way.
