First Meal - Video - Action for Route 1

[It's time for Cilan! He's turned on his video feed, Route 1 behind him - and a small, shy smile on his face.]
Ah-- is it working, Pansage? [A hand waves from behind the Xtransiever - a bit of yellow hitting the screen.] Good. I didn't have one before...
Anyway, hello! My name is Cilan - but, you might know that. [Sheepishly, he continued.] I'm another newcomer? This is c-confusing. [Note how he's touching his chest - his heart. Death is confusing guys.]
But, I should go onwards - this world is waiting for us, right Pansage? I wonder how long we'll spend training...
[At the end of the feed, he turns - there's a wild Pokemon! Just before the feed turns off, Pansage comes on screen - and it has scars over one eye. Hm.]

[Startled, he reflexively draws away from his screen slightly, eyes wide.]
Yes, I... suppose it does. Is it really so surprising to see me? [Was it because Cilan expected him to be jailed for his crimes or something? He looks away in a sudden pang of guilt.]

...It is.
[Should he tell him? Shouldn't he? He might not even be the same man... Cilan couldn't help but hold his own frown. His Pansage, though, was also looking over N - with his own curiousity.]

[He looks back and tilts his head slightly. His eyes narrow and move back and forth between Cilan and Pansage.] And why is that? Would you expect me to be locked away?

[He frowns and instead shifts his focus to the Pansage.] Friend, that scar on your face...

[This was awkward - Cilan didn't know how to respond, without dropping his disguise.
And so, Cilan gave the Xtransiever over to the Pansage. He knew that N did prefer Pokemon over humans... perhaps he'll message him later, when he could bring himself to. This isn't suspisous at all. Totes.
Garland, though, frowned.] I've had it for a long time. [Since the Zoroark incident.]

[N does give Cilan a confused, somewhat suspicious look as the Xtransceiver is handed off, but it's true that he does prefer Pokemon, so he goes along with it.]

Have you really? [He frowns concernedly.] Strange... I've never seen it, in the times I have battled you.

...Then, we must come from different universes, right? Different times.
[Garland then shook his head. There was no point to linger on it. Just because he came from a different time to his master. Just because, if he went home, his master would be dead again, and he'd be trying to find if he even remained as a ghost.]
Don't mind Cilan - he's just a bit shocked.

Hm... Perhaps that is why... [So Cilan was probably surprised because... N was in a different situation in this other universe. His immediate fear is that he's been imprisoned in some other universe.]

Ah, yes. I suppose all the newcomers are meant to be a little shocked upon their arrival here. I know I was as well. [A pause.] Though... That does not exactly explain why he avoids my questions.

[Remember - Garland is bad at hiding secrets. He glances to Cilan a little, and then gives a frown.]
Well, he's feeling bad. He did just betray Team Plasma, after all.
[...worst pansage.]

[Cue the look of utter shock.]
T... Team Plasma? [He pauses, stunned and struggling for words.] Cilan? Betray Team Plasma? Wh-- What are you talking about, friend? Cilan can't be... [Could he...?]

[Of course, this catches Cilan's attention again, and he grabs the Xtransiever from Garland.]
A-ah, I think I n-need to go now...
[And he's just shutting it off, hanging up.

...Of course, you could just dial back. And if you don't? He might be soon...]

[Once he's been hung up on, N stares at his Xtransceiver for a few moments in a shocked silence. He isn't sure what exactly has been revealed to him; was Cilan really affiliated with Team Plasma? How could he have not known? Maybe it was an affiliation that only existed in Cilan's universe?

He decides not to call back, and eventually shuts off his own Xtransceiver as well. He needs time to think.]

[It's a lot later, like night or something, when suddenly - N, you have a phonecall. It's from Garland, mind you. Not Cilan. Cilan's been sulking, and reacting to a phonecall he got from Iris which I am comicing up. Needless to say, Garland is still near to him. But with the Xtransiever. Also whispering.]
...Are you there?

[N is curled up in the same Pokemon Center bed when he receives the call. He's restless, though, and answers right away.]
Yes. Hello again, friend. [He attempts a smile, but it's gone in a flash.] Is something wrong?

...
[A bit of a gulp.]
I said something wrong. I wasn't meant to blab.

So it seemed. But that's alright. Pokemon are not meant to keep secrets. [He frowns, suddenly suspicious.]
Cilan didn't punish you for what you said, did he?

Of course not. He... we're friends, and have been since we met. Even if he can't understand me.
[A smile.]
He's worried about what he said, yes. But he's more worried about his own state, right now.

... That's good to hear.

[He sighs heavily.] Why is he so worried? I'm not even quite sure what to make of what you told me... [He furrows his brow.] Was he... part of Team Plasma? I just don't understand-- How could I not have known?

He... he was one of the Triad. Formerly.
But, he was a traitor - and he's ashamed, not to mention...
[...Silence. Garland can't bring himself to say it. So, he's silent for a few moments - nearly a minute. Until he can finally say...]
He was to be killed.

The... Shadow Triad? [It made sense; the three always wore disguises, and N had no idea what they really looked like. A look of horror crosses his expression. His father's servants-- here! They would know where he was.

But he stops inwardly panicking at the word "traitor" to listen. When Garland has finished, he just stares in shock.] Killed? [He's heard Ghetsis threaten servants with death before, but as far as he knew, he never went through with those threats.] And he was... brought here before that could happen?

I-I don't know.
[Garland then sighed again.]
I remember him dying. I remember searching for a trainer to try and help me find what happened - and I remember speaking with you, about her. [He did. Though, it might have been another Lord N.] However, he looks just like he did on that day. H-he doesn't look hurt at all.

[N looks a bit disturbed by all this. Hearing that he was part of the Shadow Triad was enough, but brought back from the dead as well? And Pansage remembered him... N curls up where he is on the bed subconsciously, averting his eyes.] I don't... remember speaking to you about any such trainer... [Could Pansage be referring to Hilda?]

... If Cilan has been labeled a traitor, does that mean he is no longer loyal to Team Plasma?

That's a hard question. [Garland said, closing his eyes.] He was raised to be loyal, and had nothing left. After all, it was Cress who delivered the final blow. [Hahaha... what a sad state of affairs.] But his loyalty has been shaken.
