oo3 - Action for Striaton

[Anyone hanging around the Striaton Pokecenter might see a pretty cute sight early that morning - Hayami and his Togepi sitting together, as he plays with the baby Pokemon!
It seems to love hand games, even though clapping is kind of hard with its little arms - but its giggling away anyway.

In fact, no one's probably seen a Togepi this happy! It's positively glowing with cheer!

... Oh wait. No. It's actually glowing.

When he finally notices the brightness coming from his baby Pokemon, Hayami stands up, startled; only to watch the little guy evolve right before his eyes.
In fact, he has to rub his eyes a bit to get himself used to what he's seeing - and to believe it.]

... P-P-Pigeto... You...!

[The newly evolved Togetic looks down at itself then, checking out it's ~new form~, before flying up with its new wings - circling around Hayami and flying into his arms with joy!
And Hayami's just as happy to hug his Pokemon, even if it's covering him in some sort of sparkling down.]

Y-you evolved! My first evolution, and it's as great as this..!!

[Kariya is actually right nearby when the light-show starts, settled across from Hayami and his Togepi in another set of seats. He's been trying to get to know his new Duskull, from the looks of things...though given the way the ghost's just sort of hovering there, its red eye low and dim, it doesn't seem to be going that well. Maybe it's trying to sleep??

In any case, there's nothing to keep the defender's attention from turning, when Togepi decides to go supernova and turn into some crazy bird thing.]

W-woah -- !

[Okay, that's too cute for words pretty damn cool. Kariya can't help but look impressed.]

What just happened?

He evolved...! A lot of Pokemon can evolve, Kariya-kun!

[And he's ecstatic that his just did -]

It's kind of like growing up for us - Pigeto-kun's more like, um...

[... How does he word this? It's second of three evolutions, after all --]

[He's not that dumb about Pokémon, jeez. He'll let Hayami slide on overexplaining, though, just this once.]

But I thought they did it after fights or training. Yours just went - [He makes an 'explode!' type of gesture with both hands] Out of nowhere!

Heh, he looks really pleased with himself about it.

Oh, uh - some Pokemon just... evolve when they're happy.

[Which is why he's so amazed by this, of course! It means his Pokemon really really likes him ;u;!!

He lets Pigeto go though, so the Togetic can fly over and show off his cute new form to Kariya, too.]

I think he wants you to see it up close, Kariya-kun!

So, what, he likes playing pattycake a whole lot...?

[Okay, mildly less impressed for a second there (and maybe the tiniest bit jealous), before he has a Togetic all up in his face.

Kariya laughs despite himself and reaches up to give it a pat.]

Yeah, yeah. Good job finishing hatching or whatever.

No, no he's... it's called "Max friendship" in the games.
He's as happy as he can get, basically...

[Which is obvious, since Pigeto's giving Kariya the cutest damn trill for that headpat! And maybe a hug. And some sparkly downy stuff.]

[That's definitely a very happy Pokémon. It's even rubbing off a little, with Kariya favoring the Togetic with a grin.]

Needs to learn to quit spraying everyone with glitter when it gets excited -

[Beside them, Duskull looks up at all the sparkles showering down and floats a little higher to scope out his newly evolved neighbor.]

I don't really think it's glitter - more like little feathers?
I remember there being something about it in a Pokedex entry, but with the power out and all...

[Yeah, he can't really refresh his memory for the moment.
And Pigeto's just going to zoom into Duskull's face then, giving him a big smile and a hand shake!!! Nice to see you awake, Mr. Ghost!!]

[Well, Kirino had been trying to groom his Pokémon, but interesting things happening over that way.

He makes his way over just in time to see the evolution and wow that's. Really cute. Alto looks just as pleased, flying around Hayami and Pigeto, trilling happily as if to say "congratulations".]

Wow, something about Pokémon you don't have memorized. This morning's so eventful.

Then Kariya's eyes get drawn over to where Desarm and Pigeto are getting introduced. The ghost-type's regarding the more excitable Togetic passively but letting one of its spectral arms get shaken. It gives a moan-like sound that might be a 'hello.']

Uhm, so...

[And here's Kariya hesitating on the edge of a question.]

... So? [That's asked with a bit of a headtilt - is something up, Kariya?]

[And Hayami's still really excited!!]

D-did you see that, Kirino-kun...!? My T-togepi finally evolved!

[UGH HE COULD JUST HUG SOMEONE oh, Pigeto will do]

Uh.

[He twitches into a frown, while Desarm drapes a ghosty arm against Pigeto's head and then nudges him on his way.]

What did you do to get him to like you so much? [A nod towards Pigeto]

Just wondering.

[He's been doing just fine on his own, so far, he thinks! It's just...his new ghost bro is throwing him for a loop, with as little interest as he seems to have in being bros.]

Oh...! That's easy. Pokemon are a lot like people, Kariya-kun... you just need to find out what they like.

Pigeto-kun likes playing games and being carried, for example. I'm sure you can find out what your Pokemon like, too.

[And there's always berries when in doubt, but they don't really have any at the moment, do they --]

I saw, that's really great! [He grins a bit and reaches over to pat Pigeto's head. Alto's still trilling cheerfully and flying circles around the other trainer and his Togetic.]

"Well! Congratulations!" Have a grining Otogi. "You know that doesn't happen unless they feel really safe right?" Happy, Otogi, the word you're looking for is 'happy'.

[He lets Pigeto go with a smile then, so he can join the other Pokemon flying around them and trill with her.
He's just as excited, too!]

W-well, yeah... Safe and happy!
That's why this is so great - he must be so glad with me as his trainer...!

[It's a nice feeling!! Now he just needs a Shiny Stone --]

...Right.

[He's not sure what he'd expected from that answer. (Cheat codes, maybe??) But he's going to work to look like that put his concerns at ease.]

Like Reize likes battles, and Suisei likes swiping your stuff.

[Heheh, at least some of his team's easy to get along with. Duskull's more perplexing -- the only thing Kariya really knows it likes is almost making its trainer pee himself. Even as they talk, it's hovering back over to settle near the ground and look royally disinterested.]

[Also, it's still a little creepy? Like how, as his attention's turned back to Hayami, it floats close and raises its eye to watch them. It's staring.]
